!!!Culinary Grad. Lover of all things REAL FOOD. Your attitude towards cooking should be that you have so much more to learn, never doubt yourself, and be confident in what you're making!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with flavor, I would have to say anything rustic and simple. Indian/ spices are a huge influence to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Saturday Mornings as a kid helping my grandmother clean the house, afterwards munching on an egg-in-the-nest. Toast with an egg in it!! :)
My cooking triumphs
Tackling culinary school, realizing that there is MUCH more to cooking than knowing techniques and recipes. You really have to have a relationship with food item, know what it's all about and its full potential.
My cooking tragedies
Following the recipe. You should always make additions! It's like story telling, or ancient folklore. So philosophical of me.
Jokes aside I would say I have experienced a lot of baking tragedies. As a chef it's bred into you to follow your own path, and when it comes to baking you have a strict guideline of measurements, or it wont come out correct.
No a little pinch of this! Or a little pinch of that!
