Grandma's Peach French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2004
WONDERFUL! I have been looking for a great brunch recipe and this is it. I did have to add an extra egg in the morning so that all of my toast was moist. I also chopped my peaches so my 18 mo. old son could eat them easier. I sprinkled with powdered sugar. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm.

This recipe was pretty tasty and quick. I also found that they got a bit dry and needed a little more cream cheese.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
This recipe was a HUGE hit at my brother-in-laws college graduation. I did use all of the crust for the bottom and ended up making more for the topping. I used about 1/4 c. butter, 1/2 c.flour, 1/2 c oats and 1/4 c. brown sugar. I did end up adding more flour to the crust so it was a little more grainy then doughy. I also ended up cooking it longer then the recipe states as my bottom was thicker. It was very good though.

Barbecue Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2004
This recipe was OK. The sauce was a little too tamatoy for me and I found it rather bland. I do think a little hot sauce and less chile sauce would do the trick. I also used a crockpot for convience.

I followed the advice of another reviewer and 1/2'd this recipe. I did not 1/2 the topping. It was tangy and delicious. A great use for rhubarb...Mine was frozen from last spring!

I will give these the easy factor but they didn't have quite enough flavor to pass the test to become a regular at my house.

This dish was OK. There wasn't enough flavor for my family. Next time I will try some of the suggestions and add onion and red pepper. I did add more broth then was called for.

Spinach Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
I followed the advice of previous reviewers and added mild italian sausage, carrots, a whole lot more water, shredded carrots, garlic and twice the basil. The soup had good flavor after all was said and done but I think I will stick with my version if I make it again.
