Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

I loved this dish. It tastes just like what I get at my favorite chinese restaurant and it is super easy to make. My 13 year old son on the other hand said it had a weird aftertaste like melted plastic. Not sure about his taste buds... maybe he is more taste sensitive to some flavor profile that I can't taste. I would eat this once a week if I could.

Very bland. Definitely lacking something. I should have known the short list of ingredients was a bad sign. Not sure why so man people rate this so highly.

Apricot Chicken

So easy and so tasty. The cashews really take this to the next level. My 13 year old said this was the best thing he's ever eaten. Don't think I'd go that far, but it is definately a keeper.

Roasted Cajun Potatoes

I made this for my family. It was a little spicy, but my picky 11 year old ate it up. I thought it was missing something... maybe a little cumen? Some onion powder... Not sure.

Beef Stroganoff III

Thought this was extremely tasty. We used stew meat which we browned and then pressure cooked for 20 minutes. Next time we will cut down on the butter drastically to reduce calories.

Mexican Rice II

I never could get the rice to puff up... one or two pieces did puff up almost like popcorn, but that was it. I was really worried that it wouldn't turn out right. Be very careful with your heat, because the rice can burn very easily. I learned that the hard way with my first batch and had to start all over from scratch. Don't worry if your rice doesn't puff up. Mine didn't but it still turned out just like mexican restaurant rice.

Slow Cooker Carnitas

I doubled all the spices, add some dried red chili peppers for heat, and used a pressure cooker instead of a crock pot. A pressure cooker can cook pork in 45 minutes what takes a slow cooker 8 hours to do. Be sure to reserve some of the cooking liquid to moisten the meat after you shred it. I was worried about the cinnamon and wasn't thrilled at first with the smell since I could still smell the cinnamon, but man o man was this the best carnitas I have ever had. My whole family devoured it. It is better than what I have had in restaurants... I can't even begin to express how good this was. Really really impressed.

Tastes really good, but would like to perhaps marinate beef next time so that the flavors infuse more fully. Also, I think something is missing, but not sure what. Maybe some added heat would help.

Peanut Butter Bars I

It tastes great, however the peanut butter part of this recipe is too wet and did not set very well. I would recommend using half the amount of butter that the recipe call for.

Chicken Paprika

Doubled the recipe, omitted hot sauce, and served with rice. This was very flavorful and even my very picky 11 year old scarfed it down. Even she was shocked because she just "knew" that she was going to hate it. Will add this recipe to my regular dinner rotation.
