About this Cook
I moved away from home and in with my now husband over 6 years ago. Lots of ups and downs with my cooking skills as I learn new things! Luckily he is very supportive and enjoys eating almost anything I make.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake things, as it requires less standing over the stove waiting for things to happen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I certainly like to try new things more than my mom ever did. I was used to eating the same 7 meals each week, which definitely got boring. So my new tradition is trying lots of new things!
My cooking triumphs
Anything that isn't burned or doesn't morph into something new while cooking is a triumph when you're a hungry student!
My cooking tragedies
Almond chicken, with egg noodles instead of rice noodles... What a sticky, yucky mess!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence
I didn't have any garlic or garlic powder on hand, but this was still a stellar marinade! Our steaks marinated for about 3 hours before hitting the grill and they were delicious. I'm sure that the garlic would make this even better, so I'm giving 5 stars. :) I didn't use the blender, just a whisk, and things mixed up perfectly.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli
Excellent! The seasonings and roasting really brings out the flavour in the broccoli. This whips up so fast, and makes an excellent side-dish. Definitely a new regular on our table!

Ginger Steak
These steaks had an excellent flavour! We used a cheaper cut of meat, but they were still tasty with this marinade. The only thing I changed was dredging the steaks in salt, then washing them off before marinating. Yum!
