Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
Have made this MANY times. I just grind my white wheat for the flour. Only needs 1/4 c. flax seed meal and 2 tsp baking powder (you can taste it when you put 4 tsp!)

Sweet-Sour Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I did not care for the flavor of this salad--too sour, I think. It seemed like a LOT of dressing for the amount of broccoli. I would probably do less mayo and more sugar next time.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
very tasty! I pureed the carrots, walnuts and apples with the oil so my kids wouldn't complain about the chunks. I do think they are a little greasy--next time I'll replace half the oil with applesauce. And, probably half the flour with whole wheat just to up the nutrition.

Cranberry Sauce Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
I used chicken breasts, but did NOT like the flavor of this dish at all. I guess I assumed it would taste sweet with the cranberry sauce. But, it was too sweet for me.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This was okay, but nothing special. It may have been better to double the cinnamon swirl since it was hard to find in most slices.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I didn't have the ham bone, just leftover meat. So, that may be why mine didn't have much flavor.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
Delicious! The only change I made was to use MINI CHOCOLATE CHIPS instead of raisins. Next time we'll try a few of the health-boosting changes. But, I first wanted my kids to eat them as well as they eat the HFCS-laden Quaker ones!

Butternut and Apple Harvest Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This had a good flavor, but MAKE SURE YOU COOK IT UNTIL THE VEGGIES ARE VERY SOFT. Mine was still a little chunky after blending.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I made these for thanksgiving, trusting in all the good reviews...MISTAKE! I followed the directions except for using a regular mixer instead of a bread machine. (I've made good bread before, so I figured it would work.) They looked pretty, but tasted "yeasty" and had a sort of crumbly texture! I was very embarrassed!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
DON'T DO CUT-OUTS with this recipe. Or, if you do, don't roll it too thin! I cut 24 pumpkin shapes out (24 servings) but I should have left the dough thicker than 1/4". I took them out of the oven just as they started to brown, but they were already crispy. Next time I'll roll in balls as recommended! :)

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
One of our family favorites! We serve it with cranberry sauce, which compliments the chicken soup flavor very well. Try it!

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I'd never had "regular" stuffed peppers, but thought this recipe looked healthy and fresh. It was okay, but the pepper flavor is too overwhelming for me (I don't like green peppers plain.)

Pecan Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Yummy! Has a definite honey-mustard taste, but the pecans add a nice crunch. I've used a similar recipe that was more of a pecan-encrusted chicken. But, this was much easier to just dump the sauce and nuts on top (since they fall off anyway.) We served it with mashed potatoes. If you use rice, I might double the sauce so you have extra on the rice.

Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These were easy and yummy! My centers dried just right. (Don't make them too thin or they'll fall apart when you pick them up off the waxed paper.) I had children helping me dip them, so they weren't pretty, but tasted good! Just don't leave the center in the chocolate pot for long--it melts quickly!

Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Really yummy! But, making mashed potatoes for this was kind of a pain. There's another recipe on the site for "Peppermint Patties" by Patty that is easier and I think just as good.

Pineapple Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
This has been our regular cheese ball for years. It's kind of sweet and really yummy. We use a little seasoned salt in it for flavor. Do NOT try it with low fat cream cheese, unless you want it more like a dip. It's too sticky and runny to form into a ball. The full fat stuff works best. Whole or sliced almonds on the outside are great, too.

Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These tasted kind of strange too me. Maybe too onion-y? We ate them, but are not planning to try them again.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
This was good. People asked for the recipe. Don't expect it to be like a warm, cheezy spinach dip. It's more like a ranch dip with spinach in it. But, great on veggies.

Cranberry Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I thought this sounded so interesting, I had to try it. I got lots of positive comments at the party I took it to. We dipped pretzels, crackers and bagel pieces into it. It was a little hard to get it out with the bagels. But, I don't think I let it sit out of the fridge long enough to soften up. I'll definitely make it again.

Honey Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I wanted to make a dip like the on that goes on "Malibu Chicken" at Sizzler. I didn't want it to taste too strong of mayo, so I only used half as much. As a result, the sauce was more runny than it may have been...but the flavor was good.
