Wonderful recipe. Will make this often. My family of four - with two teenagers - loves it!

Creamy Dill Dip II

Reviewed: May 24, 2015
5 Stars, but plan ahead and make it one day before you serve it. I chopped the dill finely and tried it after 4 hours - and I rate it at 5 stars. It was good, but my husband wanted more dill flavor, so I added the same amount again. I substituted chives for the green onions.

Oma's Rhubarb Cake

Reviewed: May 24, 2015
Good cake - my family liked it best - warm - from the oven. The cake became moister the next day - and that was not necessarily a good thing. We liked the cake the first day the best. I will make again, the flavor was very good.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2015
Based on reviews, I began by dredging the pork in a flour salt/pepper mixture, then in the egg, followed by the bread crumbs. I pan fried on each side and baked in the oven. I didn't turn the meat and it was perfect - the breading stayed on and the meat was moist. We will make this again.

Chef John's Raw Kale Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2015
Nice enough, but my family found the flavor a bit strong, so we didn't really enjoy it much.

Sweet Potato Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2014
Good recipe. I was more interested in the method and combination of ingredients. I had one very long slim sweet potato which I grated into the bottom of a 6 x 10 glass dish (approx. size) I used 6 eggs, handful of grated cheese, cup of spinach chopped, half of an onion diced fine, quarter cup of Bisquick, pepper, salt, 1/2 cup water...........my point is that this method and combination of vegetables is dependable. Follow the "how to" instructions and use the combination amounts that you like best. Don't fret, it's like making quiche. It was a lovely brown when it came out of the oven. I strongly suspect that it will re-heat in the microwave and still be nice. My 17 year old son put ketchup on it, but that is not a bad thing. Thanks to the Cook for making a recipe that I can fit into my busy life. Add a tossed salad and this is lovely breakfast, lunch or super.

Angel's Yummy Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2014
Excellent. I used dried basil and dried oregano and I had to substitute a dense small white load of bread for the baguette. I did brush olive oil onto one side of the bread before I toasted it. I served the bruschetta with Whole Yellow Pea Soup (by Lori on this site) and everyone loved it. Both teenagers and my husband were trying to think of other times to serve the bruschetta. We plan on trying the recipe modified to toast on the BBQ on a summer afternoon.

Easy Layered Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
Lovely dessert. Easy to make, easy to keep the ingredients on hand - this is a go-to recipe when you need something quick and you have a few hours for the dessert to chill. Also, this dessert is one you can mix and match pudding flavours and pie filling. Keep this recipe in easy reach.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
Making this recipe as written, the batter is too thick. The flavour is good. I will make again, but I will add applesauce to thin the batter and add more nutrients.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
Excellent. Note to those using the metric system, the small box of pudding mix is equal to 3.4 oz. As suggested by another, I cut the butter to 1/2 cup, added 2Tbsp of Olive Oil and 1/2 cup of applesauce. Flavourful, fluffy, dark and light. No icing, we eat them without it.

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
Bake them until they are well done - a bit crunchy was not as good as the smaller ones that were well done and very soft. These are a fine product, but I will just boil and serve in future, no need to bother with baking the sweet potatoes, unless the oven is already on.

Soda Pop Strawberry Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
I will keep a can of pop and a box of angel food cake mix on my shelf, so I can make this on short notice. What a nice light fluffy cake. I left out the honey and I didn't bother to ice the cake. Try this! It's really good.

Frosty Strawberry Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
This recipe did not impress me. It was good, but I have no usual desire to make it again or make it again with variations. I made it in a 9 x 9 pan, to have a thicker crust - 4 days ago - and there are still left overs in the freezer. Very odd in my house. We will move on and try other recipes.

Pretzel Tart

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Nice flavour but the bottom crust was hard bits of pretzel. I will make this recipe again because the filling is really nice. Next time, I will buy a "new bag" of better quality pretzels and crush those. We served this dessert on the same day as we made it. We also wonder if making the dessert one day, refrigerating overnight and then serving it, might moisten the pretzel base and make its texture more appealing. I will try both of those approaches; however, even when the base not as desirable as we would like - we can still scoop out the filling and serve it in a bowl, like a parfait!

Fish Stuffing Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
I liked this recipe. I used haddock fillets, Chicken Stove Top Stuffing, I added the carrots and celery AND I drizzled oil olive on the fish. I also sprinkled the fish with parsely and a lemon and herb seasoning. The timing in the recipe worked for me too. Good recipe for a quick meal during the week - just add a vegetable or green salad.
