Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2014
Loved it! Grilled boneless chicken breasts were excellent and so juicy, I'll be keeping this one! I only made 1/4 of the recipe for 6 boneless breasts.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
As others stated, this recipe needs to be doubled to feed a family. I also added a little vanilla, only 2 tablespoons of vinegar for a doubled recipe (I usually use 1 T vinegar per 1 cup of milk), and a little extra milk because I thought the batter was too thick. These were much better than a box mix, and I always have these ingredients on hand. They were a great Sunday evening breakfast for supper, with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Ingrid's Caesar Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2013
Delicious! I will never buy bottled Caesar again. I followed the recipe other than I left out the blue cheese dressing because I don't keep it and, honestly, I don't see the point of adding it anyway.

Much better than store bought and I like that I can make a smaller amount when that's all I need.

Ex-Girlfriend's Mom's Salsa Fresca (Pico de Gallo)

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Really great! My 12-yr-old daughter couldn't stop eating it. I made this to go with the grilled fish tacos on this site. Next time I think I will use a sweet onion instead of red. I think the red onion is a little strong and competes with the flavor instead of complementing it.

Grandma's Raspberry Bars

Reviewed: May 9, 2013
Easy and delicious! I added 1/2 cup of the oatmeal to the butter/sugar/flour mixture. It weighed 617 gm, so I pressed all but 200 gm into the bottom of the pan. Then I added almost 1 cup of the oatmeal to the 200 gm and pressed it over the raspberry layer. Next time I think I'll use a full cup of jam. So good!!

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
I'm giving this recipe as written 4 stars because I just can't imagine using potato flakes - yuck! However, with my mods it was really good. I used about 7 smallish potatoes, used the immersion blender to smooth about 5 of them, and then added the remaining potatoes in chunks to give it a little more texture. Also, used heavy cream instead of half & half, no water - skim milk instead, and fresh basil instead of dried. My kids loved it.

Fantastic! These were a hit with all 3 kids and the hubby. They took our burgers to a whole new level. I'll definitely make them again.

Southern Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
Fantastic! My kids (17, 13, and 12) love this and often request it. I omit the jalapeño because I don't usually have one on hand. I use fire roasted red peppers that come in a huge jar from Costco - they're cheaper and then I have plenty for other things. This spread is so much better than store-bought. I highly recommend it!

French Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
My son needed some French food for a French party at school. He told me at 10:00 the night before, of course. So, I whipped this up - minus the marjoram and dill because I didn't have any and at that hour I was not going to the store. I added just a dash of worchestire. He took it to school the next morning with a baguette. Even without all the called-for ingredients, it was delicious and I will definitely make it again!

Easy Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
My kids love this. I've made it several times over the past few years - it's quick and easy when you need a potluck dessert. I only use 2T lemon juice for the topping - otherwise, it would be too runny, but I've only made it in a bundt, runny might be fine in a 9X13.

Pumpkin French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
I really liked this. It's so easy that I made it two days in a row. Once for my family and once to take to my Bible study group. I added an extra T of sugar both times. The second time I subbed 2t pumpkin pie spice for all the spices - I didn't really notice that it made a difference. My store didn't have Texas toast so I just used a regular one pound loaf.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread for the Bread Machine

Stellar! I didn't have walnuts, and kids don't like them anyway. I just used the cinnamon/sugar mixture and it was still fantastic.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I'm giving this 5 stars because it was good, but mostly because there is no waiting period for it to rise. My usual pizza dough takes about 2 hours. I still like my regular crust recipe better, but this one can't be beat for those times when you don't prepare ahead of time. We made calzone, and got 4 from this recipe.

Alabama Pulled Pig

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
I originally reviewed this in summer 2012. When Allrecipes went to their new format somehow it disappeared. I'm still using this recipe and love it. However, I don't have a smoker. The butt is too big for either of my slow cookers, so I put it in my Staub in a 270-degree oven and cook it overnight. I halve the recipe no matter how much the butt weighs. Just pour it over and let it cook all night. Delish!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
I've made this sauce many times over the years. I keep fresh ginger in the freezer so it's really easy to use freshly grated in this recipe. Such a great sauce to use for all Asian recipes!

Premier White Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Delicious! All three kids loved these. I somewhat agree with other reviewers that they are not completely 'fudgy' like brownies, but they aren't really cakey either - somewhere in between. In any case, the slight almond flavor is incredible and I will be making these again! To simplify, I melted the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water and it worked great.
