Sweet Potato Casserole VI

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
I made this for Christmas dinner at a friends - we could have nuts due to allergies, but everything else was just as the recipe stated. It was DELICIOUS - most everyone took seconds and several asked for the recipe. It was very sweet but a great side for turkey and stuffing!

Love this recipe, I have been making it for years and this is the exact same as my mom's. Super easy and quick - great to take with or as a last minute throw together for guests.

I used this recipe to make Monkey Brains sticky buns and it was perfect. Very easy to make in the bread machine and was delicious with the gooey sugar toppings for breakfast!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
I made the recipe as written, the only difference being my cake mix was not 18.25 ounces, don't know if they still sell that size. It turned out very good, one of the best chocolate cakes I've had and definitely the best I've ever made. Everyone wants me to make it again and we are just finishing the first one.

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
So much easier to make bacon this way and does not smell up the house as much. I have found with 2 trays of bacon it takes about 30-40 minutes to get crisp. Everyone loved it, nice and flat, perfect crispiness and great flavor!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: May 8, 2014
These were really good and made the "cake" last longer. They were very sweet - but everyone in my family thought they were perfect. I had to use a lot more chocolate coating than what the recipe called for, otherwise the recipe was perfect. I could see a million different combinations that could be made and enjoyed for so many events and holidays.

This recipe is super easy - and the brittle is delicious! I will never go back to the stove top - softball candy stage method. Must keep and try!

These were very tasty, took longer to cook than listed, but delicious. It made too much for me, next time I will try cutting in half as I don't have a large family.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cigars

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
Oh wow, I have never used Phyllo before, this dessert is awesome! It was really very easy, even with the delicate Phyllo pastry. I had one from the first tray and am going to have a hard time not eating more before my party tonight! I sprinkled a little sugar on top of the second tray to give it a little sparkle too!

Easy Brownie Mix Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2014
Like others, I couldn't find the right size brownie mix. I tried some other suggestions of adding more flour and using crisco and refrigerating, and the cookies didn't spread too much. However, they were very thin, hard to get off the pan, even using parchment paper. They crumbled some and I could not make them into sandwiches. They tasted delicious, but was not what I was hoping for in a sandwich cookie. Will not make again.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
I read a bunch of reviews and followed some of the advice, making the sour milk with only 1 Tablespoon of vinegar instead of 2 and also adding 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. I made sure not to over mix as I know that makes them flat and dense. These turned out great. They tasted really good and were nice and fluffy. Everyone loved them and all want me to make again next weekend!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
This is the same recipe as my Grandmothers, but without the 1 c chopped walnuts. I just dug out her recipe and it is the exact amounts of all the ingredients. I love this bread as does everyone I give it to. I make the mini-loaves, they are great fresh and freeze well too. I always add the walnuts too!

Just like mom made! This is the same recipe that has been handed down in my family for years. These are delicious, are great for taking to outdoor events as they don't melt and they freeze perfectly. Love to have some in the freezer to whip out for unexpected guests - everyone always loves these!

Campfire S'mores in a Cone

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
We got the flat bottomed cake cones and the taste as part of the overall dessert was only ok. Not too much fits into the cone but it was fun for the kids and easy to eat.

Herbed Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
I made this for Christmas dinner at a friends house, all 18 people loved it - several asked for the recipe. It had more of a garlic flavor than I expected, but it was a very tasty and a great way to make "just corn" a whole lot better!
