Basic Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
Exactly what the name implies. Great and simple. I didn't use the almonds because we didn't have any. I did add just a little sprinkle of garlic powder and some sweet pickle relish....it was delicious. Thanks for the post.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
Really, Really, Really good stuff. The only change was dried ginger instead of the fresh (didn't have any on hand). I also added just a bit more honey after. I baked the fish instead of pan frying (for the health factor) and reduced the sauce in a pan and poured over the fish. Really liked how this turned out. Thanks for the post.

Beef and Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2006
I tried....but it was just ok. I gave it 3 stars because it was so easy...but another reviewer is right...it tastes like Hamburger Helper. (to be honest I found this site because I was tired of eating that stuff). I am sorry, I won't be trying this again. Thanks anyway for the post.

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
I love this recipe, but could not give it 5 stars because of the changes I made for the second batch. I added some imitation crab meat and some garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture. I also precooked the bacon about 1/2 way before wrapping the mushroom. We liked it much better with our modifications. Thanks for the post.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2004
My mom used to make these for me every birthday. The only thing that I do differently: I keep the vanilla wafers whole. that leaves a good crust on the bottom and keeps it from crumbling. These taste SO GOOD. They are easy to make and a wonderful treat.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
I saw another reviewer say that after it was done...didn't want to make again because of the work. I had the complete opposite reaction. We liked these so much that I would definately do these again. Don't get me wrong, it is time consuming...but we believe they are totally worth it. Do be careful because they can burn. We found french vanilla cool whip and ate this as a dessert the next day (yum leftovers). Thanks for a great recipe.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
Very good recipe. This is one of the recipes that we use for salmon on a regular basis. Definitely follow the advice of another reviewer and add the dill to the butter sauce. It enhances the flavor and looks much better. Thanks for the post.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
This is absolutely amazing. I did have to add some milk to make the sauce because without it, it was just too thick (you could add some of the pasta water too...if you prefer). We loved this. This would be perfect for company because it has great visual presence. One of our favorite recipes from this site up to date. Thank you for the post.

Grandma's Chicken Chardon

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
Really Liked the way this turned out. I did change a few things to suit our tastes. I added crushed garlic to the butter and lemon juice mixture on the bottom of the pan. I also baked as the recipe called for but added high moisture mozzarella cheese to top it for the last 5-7 minutes. It turned out wonderful. Can't wait to make this one again....thanks for the post.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2004
You can not go wrong with this recipe. I have used another twice baked potato recipe for a few years now...and this one is really just as good. The only direction that I have is to follow the recipe exactly...you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the post.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2005
These were delicious. After I made the first batch....I had to make another because my Husband ate them all. I didn't roll them out and use cookie cutters. Instead I rolled them into balls and pressed them out with a glass. Then sprinkled decorated sugar on top...delicious. Thanks for the post.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
YUM-O. This stuff is amazing. I have used several different kinds of breads and it all tastes amazing. My advice is to try to use a thicker bread just because the thinner stuff tends to get a little soggier. Thanks for the post.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
Made a few changes with what I had on hand...I used milk instead of the half and half. I made my own bacon bits and sauteed the chicken in the bacon grease, just a few minutes on each side. Then, put that off to the side and added the mushrooms and the garlic to the pan with just a little butter and olive oil. I deglazed the pan with a splash of white wine and added the soup milk mixture. I forgot all about the lemon juice and reduced the seasonings to 1/2 because of the comments from other reviewers. Baked this for 20 minutes and then added the cheese for another 10 minutes at 350. Served it with Roasted Garlic Wild Rice and it was delicious. Definately a keeper. Thanks for the recipe.

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
This was my first attempt at potato salad...and I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. It didn't wow me like I thought it would, and it didn't have the best reaction from the family. My grandma usually makes hers and didn't this year, so this dish had a lot to live up to. Don't get me wrong, it was "good", just not "great". I think I will let grandma keep making the potato salad from now on...but thanks for the post.

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: May 8, 2004
Made this last night. Make sure that you put a bit of butter between the skin and the meat...like another reviewer suggested, and don't forget to baste the turkey. It turned out wonderful and so moist. This is definatly a great basic and easy turkey recipe. Thanks for the post.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
Hubby loves biscuits and gravy on weekend mornings...so I am always trying to find different ways to make it. Made this recipe exactly as written with the exception of the sausage (I had sage sausage on hand). It turned out delicious. Hubby loved it. Thanks for the post.

Death By Chocolate III

Very good. Hubby rated this 5 stars with the first bite. I did not have toffee bars, so I added chocolate chips and pecan pieces instead....turned out great. Thanks for this new dessert recipe.

Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions

Reviewed: May 30, 2004
I used this as a side dish for Aussie Chicken from this site. I needed to cook some bacon for the chicken and I saw some reviewrs say that they thought a bit of crumbled bacon would taste good with this side dish. So, I used just a little bit of the bacon drippings to "fry" up the corn and onions. The result was amazing. It tasted wonderful and the hubby and I both really liked. I know not a healthy dish...but who cares. Tasted great. Thanks for the post.

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
I agree with another reviewer that said this is pretty basic. You really need to get some spices into it. Pick your favorites and try it out. It really does have a lot of potential. We liked it after adding some sauteed mushrooms and garlic. I also added some white wine while the mushrooms and garlic cooked.(Will make again with my changes.) Thanks for the post.
