Simple Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
This was good. I used whole grain white bread instead of the english muffin and sweet pickle relish instead of the peppers. (It was all I had on hand.) Turned out delish...and exactly what I wanted. Thanks for the post.

HERB-OX® Bouillon Pork Chops with Burgundy Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
This was good. I did have to add a thickening agent to help with the sauce because it was just too runny. I also added the meat to the sauce for the last 5 minutes to stay warm in the sauce and to get more flavor. Thanks for the post.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
We really liked this recipe, but I couldn't rate a 5 because I had to make some changes to the sauce to suit our tastes (made it as the recipe states and the hubby and I both thought it was missing something). So, I added about 1/2 cup of orange juice and some freshly grated ginger (about 1/2 tablespoon). I did have to reduce the sauce on the stove a little bit...but they turned out amazing. Will definately serve at our next gathering instead of the normal Buffalo wings. Thanks for the post.

Asparagus and Cashews

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
Hubby really liked this. I added just one little clove of garlic and just a bit of freshly grated ginger...he ate it up quickly. (Me...not a fan of asparagus). Thanks for the post.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
These were good for my first attempt at blueberry muffins. The only complaint that I got from hubby is that they were not sweet enough. I also added a little more fresh blueberry than it called for...but it turned out well. Thanks for the post.

Chicken Katsu

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
This was really good. This is one of the first recipes that I have tried with Panko...and they are so much better than regular breadcrumbs. I didn't know that you would need some kind of sauce or gravy because as it stands it is a little bit bland. I fried it in olive oil...maybe next time I will fry in butter like Josie suggested. Thanks for the post.

Local Kine Wontons

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
These were delicious. My favorite recipe for this from this site thus far. I did add a little more crab meat...we like it with a little more substance. I also added just a little bit of garlic powder. I put a full spoonful in the center and used a second wonton wroapper to cover. This way we could get more filling in each bite. Thanks for the post...delicious.

Orange Honey Butter

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
Very good. I did add just a little more honey to make it a little sweeter. We ate this on muffins for breakfast...thanks for something a little different.

Summer Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
This was very good. I did make a few changes after reading some of the reviews. I added some oregano and some dill. I also used olive oil instead of the veggie oil. I mixed everything together and then added the potatoes. Will definately make again (with my changes). Thanks for the post.

Campfire Vidalias

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
OMG this is absolutely fabulous. You will be amazed at how wonderfully simple and delicious this is. I added some Greek seasoning...and instead of chopping up the garlic, I left it whole. Only made 1 onion (to share with hubby) and I wish that I would have made 2. Will continue to make at almost every BBQ. Thank you for the post.

Big Germans

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
Not a big fan of this one. I have never had German pancakes, and I don't think I will make again. It was very dense and very eggy. It was also very bland (even with the syrup and fruit). I think I will stick to my regular breakfast pancake. Thanks anyway for the post.

Taco in a Bag

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
I loved this idea. We are painting the house and I wanted something quick with little clean up. I did like another reviewer and put these in gladware and just did a shake instead of a chip bag. I also used Doritos insted of the corn chips for more of a kick. I added some guacamole and lots more cheese (we like it that way). It was delicious and so easy. Thanks for the post.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
This was good...with some changes that I made. I reduced the amount of brown sugar to 1/2. I didn't want something too sweet. I also added some mushrooms. I served this over roasted garlic red potatoes and it was delicious. Will continue to make again and again. Thanks for the post.

Honey Ginger Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
I really liked this recipe. I did make 2 changes. Instead of using ground ginger, I used fresh (and doubled the amount). I also used the juice from the ginger. The other change was that I baked it in the oven. It made the sauce so sticky and delicious. Can't wait to make this again, thanks for the post.

Baklava

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
First off...I have to admit that we have never had Baklava before. I have a friend who is Greek and raves about this, so I though I would try it. It is just not for us. Hubby said it was ok...but not something he would like me to continue making. He said I make better desserts than this...and shouldn't do this one again. Unfortunately I have to agree. It just didn't suit our tastes. Thanks anyway for the post.

Loved it...followed the advice of the other reviewers and added "malibu rum" and some pinapple juice. Thanks for a delicious and refreshing drink. (Now one of my favorites.)

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
I love this recipe, but could not give it 5 stars because of the changes I made for the second batch. I added some imitation crab meat and some garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture. I also precooked the bacon about 1/2 way before wrapping the mushroom. We liked it much better with our modifications. Thanks for the post.

Georgia Cracker Salad

Very good recipe (from Lady ahd Son's). When I saw her make it....I thought there was no way that this could be good...was I wrong. You do need to eat this right away...it does not keep at all. Thanks for the recipe.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
This is absolutely amazing. I did have to add some milk to make the sauce because without it, it was just too thick (you could add some of the pasta water too...if you prefer). We loved this. This would be perfect for company because it has great visual presence. One of our favorite recipes from this site up to date. Thank you for the post.

Tartar Sauce IV

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
I hate the stuff, but hubby loves it. Unfortunately for him since he doesn't eat it enough, I never buy it. He was delighted when I found this recipe. The great thing is...everything you need is probably already in your pantry. The only thing I did differently was to use dill relish (instead of chopping up the pickles). He said it was really good and he liked being able to have his tartar sauce. Thanks for the post.
