Amazing! I also added the corn after the potatoes were done and it came out perfect. The flavor was incredible.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I used to make an apple crisp that was similar to this, but I never used an actual recipe. I went hunting for something similar on this website and ran across this recipe. I just made a half size portion of this and my family loved it; my daughter is whining for seconds while I type. I made it according to the recipe, but I did reduce the amount of white and brown sugar. I think next time I will add a little more of both sugars and have some vanilla icecream to go on top. This is a simple and tasty dessert which I highly recommend.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
This dish was recommended to me by a friend, so I looked it up. I made it very similarly to the recipe above except that I used ground turkey instead of beef. I layered it on the bottom and sprinkled the seasonings then covered it with the cream of mushroom and milk mixture. I put a very thin layer of cheese over that and then a layer of the frozen tator tots and completely covered with the rest of the cheese. I baked it for about 35 minutes uncovered. Then I covered it with tin foil and carried it to a potluck. I didn't get a chance to taste it because everyone else gobbled it up so quickly, so I am giving it five stars based on their rave reviews. The next time I make it I am going to use ground beef, and hopefully this time I will get at least a bite.

Baked Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
Someone gave me an acorn squash, and I had never cooked one before in my life. So, naturally I turned to the internet for some suggestions. I used this recipe as a starting place; however, I prepared it a little different. I coated the cut squash with melted butter and sprinkled with cinnamon. I baked it for about an hour. I then melted together brown sugar, maple syrup and a little more butter in a saucepan on the stove and simmered slowly for about 15 to 20 minutes. I brushed the glaze on the acorn squash and returned it to the oven for an additional 20 minutes. It had a very nice flavor, not too sweet or bitter. This may be a good idea for those who do not like the orange or brandy flavors on their squash. I also made a butternut squash the same way while I was cooking the acorn squash, and presonally I like the flavor of the butternut better.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
This is my all-time favorite macaroni and cheese recipe. Growing up, my mom and grandmother never made this dish, so one holiday season I went on a search through all of their cookbooks for the perfect recipe. We tried it and everybody loved it. Immediately it was my grandmother's favorite recipe and she quickly became known for her excellent home-made mac and cheese. I was thrilled to find the recipe on allrecipes.com and I made it yesterday for Thanksgiving. The kids and adults both loved and praised the dish. With that being said, I want to add that I did cover the casserole for the first 30 minutes and then took it out and sprinkled shredded chedder cheese on top and backed it uncovered for the next 30 mins. The top still came out a little bit crispy so I may keep it covered longer the next time I make this. Also, I added about 1/4 cup of cheese to the recipe and it was just right Enjoy!
