Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
Great base for a variety of different ingredients. I followed the recipe except I used a can of chunk chicken breast, no jalapenos (did use jalapeno powder that I had), 2 cans of beans (drained and rinsed one) and 2 cups of stock. Still - a great recipe all around! I've even gotten co-workers to try it. Definitely a keeper!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Overall flavor was awesome...great sauce. I made the mistake of covering it in the oven and it was way too runny. So, I put it in a pan on the stove and poured some of the sauce over the top and cooked over a high flame for a couple of minutes. The sauce thickened right up and tasted great!

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
Excellent recipe! So easy and quick to whip up. They disappeared in 3 days. I followed the recipe exactly - the only change was that I didn't use an electric mixer. Didn't taste bland at all...tasted exactly like cookie dough. My guys thought they were getting a treat and kept sneaking it from the bowl. :o)

Scalloped Corn II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This is the exact recipe my mom had made for years! There are others on this site that are more "cake" like (my grandma made that kind for holiday dinners) but this one was a Sunday dinner veggie growing up. Always brings back memories of adding too much milk and no enough crackers and having runny corn (which my dad hated) or not enough milk and way too many crackers and having a dry, gluey mess! Thanks for the recipe - I hope to pass it on to my kids!

Peanut Butter Balls III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2003
I made peanut butter balls for the first time this year--and my boyfriend absolutely loves these! I like the Rice Krispies...it gives them added crunch. I doubled the recipe and used chocolate almond bark to coat and they still tasted great!

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2004
A huge hit with my boyfriend! I used a little more Captin Morgan than what was called for (to make it a little stronger) and added more citrus fruits (orange, pineapple). A wonderful summertime drink!

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Very good recipe - I added too much mustard and it gave it a strange flavor. But everyone raved so thanks for the recipe!

Cowboy Grub

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I read your blog and decided I wanted to see this recipe. I had to giggle...my mom used to make something VERY similar to this. She would brown the hamburger and add EITHER the pork and beans (which we would eat with Old Dutch potato chips) or the spaghetti. How funny that you combined everything. I know this would be good...can't wait to try it myself!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
This recipe tastes awesome, and I did make a few changes. I added a little garlic salt and nutmeg for more flavor. I, too, had the problem of the cheese not melting. I used my hand blender to blend it and it smoothed and thickened right up...you need to try this recipe!

I've had these since I was a kid - and they are still a favorite. This recipe is exactly as I remember...and SO easy!

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
I used this brine for Thanksgiving...my first time EVER brining a turkey. I will DEFINITELY do it again using this recipe. I didn't think the turkey was salty at all but the drippings were (no big deal - we aren't big gravy people anyway). It had a great flavor. If you can get past the smell of the worchestershire sauce it's definitely worth it! I am HIGHLY recommending this recipe!!

G-ma's Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I have been looking for a recipe that could duplicate the rice I get at my favorite authentic mexican restaurant (over 2 hours away). This comes VERY close. They add diced carrots to theirs...had I done that I would not have been able to tell the difference. I used medium grain rice and toasted it until golden. I worried about the amount of water when I added it but it definitely needs it so don't skimp. Excellent recipe...thank you for sharing!

Fry Bread Tacos II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
This is a review for the bread only...very good base but wasn't what I was looking for. I'll use it for a dessert base instead - really good leftover toasted with cinnamon/sugar! Directions as given were very easy and made perfect sense! Kneading the dough for 5 minutes is an absolute MUST to get a smooth dough. Thanks for the recipe Robyn!

Thumbprint Cookies IV

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I was looking for a recipe to compare to cookies a co-worker used to make. These looked really close so I decided to try. I'm glad I did; however, it does need about 1/4 to 1/2 cup more flour otherwise they are very sticky and hard to roll. I just scooped out with a small ice cream scoop (after a failed attempt to roll) and indented as directed. They came out perfect! I added almond flavoring to plain white canned frosting...excellent!

Apricot Kolaches

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
My father-in-law loved these cookies! I did find, however, the 2" squares were a bit on the smallish side, so I used a glass with a 3 1/2" diameter to make circles instead. I also shook the cookies (after they were cooled) in powdered sugar. Next time I will probably add a little more flour and maybe powdered sugar to make the dough less sticky. Excellent recipe!

Creamy Dreamy Chicken and Spirals Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2004
This was a great recipe! However, it was a little dry, almost thick. There really wasn't any sauce to speak of. I think next time I will add a little more chicken broth (my substitute for the wine) to thin out the sauce before pouring it over the chicken and pasta. Excellent recipe!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
Very good start to a great recipe! After reading most of the reviews, I used only half a packet of the dressing mix, a can of soup, and 8 oz. of sour cream (to give it that strogonoff "tang"). I also added about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of chicken stock in the beginning only because I was at work and didn't want to have it get done too quickly. I drained the juice, added the soup and sour cream, and added the juice a little at a time to get the right consistency. Served mixed with egg noodles..was super good! Will definitely make again!

Triple Chunky Fudgy Fudge Brownies

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
You are WAY more adventurous than I am! I followed the recipe exactly but may have gone overboard on the syrup as the brownies did not cook all the way in the middle...while the edges were crunchy. I would have to guess that 1/2 to 2/3 cup syrup would be enough. I also used white chocolate chips...yummy. Thanks for submitting this. I'm definitely going to try it again!
