Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
This will be my go-to hashbrown recipe. Very good. I used onion powder and cooked them with cooking spray instead of oil.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
Even my pickiest child ate these. They were easy and delicious. I forgot to add the chopped onion so I took another reviewers suggestion and added french fried onions to the top towards the end of baking time. I also baked at 350 to cut the baking time down.

Bread Pudding III

Delicious! Only changes I made were to use dried cherries since I was out of raisins and I added nuts. I also made a fruit syrup to top it with.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I've never liked oatmeal cookies until now. These are absolutely outstanding. I followed the recipe exactly with the addition of 1 cup of dried cherries. I used a small cookie scoop and ended up with about 6 dozen cookies.

Loved these! I covered some in white chocolate and we liked those better. Nutter Butters covered in milk chocolate is equally awesome!

Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
My family enjoyed these. While it's not any easier that stovetop mashed potatoes, it does allow for some of the prep work to be done a head of time. I used peeled russet potatoes and skipped the garlic powder. I cooked them on low for 6 hours. They were done, but 7 hours would have probably been better. I drained off the liquid from the crockpot before mashing and added milk, a giant spoonful of sour cream, more butter, and minced garlic. The consistancy and flavor was good.

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Thanks for sharing this recipe!Outstanding! My family loves these glazed carrots. It's my new favorite veggie dish! I tweaked it a bit to our taste. I boil the carrots in equal part water and oj until tender crisp. Drain completely, add butter and brown sugar, and crank the heat up until the butter/brown sugar sauce thickens and adheres to the carrots.

Very good recipe. I used colby/jack in stead of cheddar and we loved it. Very tasty.

Fantastic and easy! I'll add a little more baking soda next time because I like a lighter brittle, but this is surely a keeper. Thanks for posting!

Chocolate Caramel Nut Salad

This is easy. Didn't go over as good as I hoped, but it was still good. I used Snickes Poppables instead of cutting up the candy bars.

Maria's Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
very easy recipe, but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Time was another factor. I don't always have time for a 1 hour side dish. Otherwise, I'll make this again because it was very easy and we did enjoy it. I'll look for some way to season it up a bit though.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
very easy basic recipe just like the title suggests. I decided to use a splatter screen over the pan after reading the reviews....thanks for that tip! I prepared just as the recipe stated cooking about 10 minutes per side. The chicken was moist and delicious. Definitely a keeper for those nights were easy is key.

Holiday Wreaths

I didn't take the time to shape them into wreaths and they still looked nice. I just dropped them from a spoon on to waxed paper and put a few candies on each one. Very easy, fast, and tasty!

Potato Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
Yes, a LOT more sugar was needed. I think I added more then 1 1/2 pounds of a 2 pound bag of sugar. And make sure the potatoe is cooked very soft or you'll get chunks in the candy. I'm a candy/sweet treat lover and this candy is way too sweet for me.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2003
Chicken was moist, coating was crispy. It was easy to prepare. I only used 1/2 of the butter and used an 8x8 pan. I dredged the chicken in flour, then egg, then the crackers and had no trouble with the coating falling off. I think the flavor might have been better if the seasoning was added to the flour or sprinkled right on the chicken before coating. That's how I'll do it next time. This one is a keeper :-)

Cheesy Chicken Rolls

These are great for a quick, easy dinner. I used the suggestions for cooking the sauce seperately and for using the rolls in the rectangle shape and they cooked fast and looked nice too. Will definitely make this recipe again. Thank you!
