Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2013
I love this recipe. I usually double it though and instead of adding the shortening I use melted butter and 1 14 oz can of creamed corn instead of the regular corn. Instead of doubling the amount of milk i used what the recipe called for and added about 1/4 cup more so total i used 3/4 cup of milk. I also add 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
I make my corned beef and cabbage this way BUT I use half water and half beer or all beer instead of all water. I also cook the meat, cabbage, carrots and potatoes all together and when the vegetables are cooked I just remove them and keep them warm on the side until the meat is done. Corned beef and cabbage is a very "bland" basic type of meal. I never feel the need to use onions since everyone I know cooks it this way.

Turkey Avocado Panini

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
I made this tonight and it was so easy and yummy. I used my George Formen grill to grill the panini's. I've made a few different kinds before and that grill works great for them. Love the avocado mayo.

Gyros Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2011
OMG, wow!! I grew up in a greek neighborhood so I know what an authentic gyro tastes like. I was missing gyros since i moved away from the old neighborhood and came across this recipe. I mixed the meat and everything else together until well blended and instead of cooking it the way the directions told you i took a reviewers advice and shaped the meat into a loaf and baked it in the oven for about an hour. I let it cool completely and sliced it thin and served it in a pita with tzatziki sauce, tomatoes and red onion. This was fantastic!! Will definately make this again.
