Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
This was so good! I did as another member suggested and added cream cheese to the mixture and it was amazing. A definite hit with the family and I'll be making it again.

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
This recipe was great. I also am from Canada so I used the Heinz beans and I ommitted the vinegar. I used half the sugar and added 1/4 cup of molasses as one user suggested. Very good, will make these again - though I think I'll take out the bacon next time, I didn't care for that much. Maybe if it hadn't been so fatty it would have been better.

Chicken Jambalaya I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
I loved this dish. Get home from work and you still have time to make this. One thing I added was a tinsy little bit of cajun pepper. Nice and spicy - just make sure if you do that, you have a glass of water handy when you eat it. I've made this dish a couple of times now and you can add or delete ingredients as you like.

Dos Queso Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2004
I rated and reviewed this recipe in 2004 but I had to go back and change my comment for the addition that I just made. I've made this for years when I have get-togethers as it's requested almost every time. The last time I made it though, I changed it up and it was a hit! I fried 1/2 lb of ground beef and drained it, added the taco seasoning to the ground beef and a small diced onion, fried until soft and put that at the bottom of a casserole dish. I then put the cream cheese, sour cream, salsa mixture on top. Very very good.

Chicken Surprise

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
This was soooo good and definately a repeat meal. I changed it up just a little bit. I added some garlic salt, paprika, cajun and parsley to the chicken for taste. I then sauteed the mushrooms with the chicken. When I cooked the rice, I used 1 can of chicken broth instead of the cubes and an additional 2 cans of water. I also added some cooked broccoli to the mixture - but it didn't seem to make very much of a difference. I think it would have been great without. The only other thing I would change next time would be to make it a little bit spicier - maybe some currie or more cajun.

Meatball Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2004
This was sooooo good. The whole family loved it and I had leftovers for a couple of days for lunch. Instead of tomato soup I used tomato sauce (I just like the flavour better) and I put the result over egg noodles. It was great.

No Bake Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
These were very easy to make and okay for taste. Nobody else ate them but me though. I don't think I'll make them again - unless I'm having a real sweet craving.

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
Ha Ha!! Not sure what happened to these! They never rose at all and were just flat little things. Nobody wanted to touch them (let alone eat them). Maybe I should have made them sit for awhile before baking them. Any suggestions?
