Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Pretty good. I put it together and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours and put it in the ovenfor 15 before dinner and I think that helped everything meld together well.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Excellent and so easy.. you can add whatever extra seasoning you want to the coating. I did make a kind of alfredo type sauce to spoon over the top. I made it for my aunt and she raved about it.

10 Pound Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
It's like the jello no bake cheesecake in a box but I think this is better. I halfed it by looking at the comments b/c I just wanted one normal sized cake and I used a store bought graham crust. It was exactly the right portion size for the crust and so easy to make. I actually read off the ingredients and let my 12 year old do all the work.

The Real Deal Korean Beef Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
Didn't do the plum sauce b/c I was pretty sure my husband wouldn't like it and didn't know if I would either so I just put in some red wine vinegar. We had one of my daughter's friends over who has a korean grandmother and she said they tasted just like her grandmother's ribs that she makes for her without the plum sauce (b/c she doesn't like it).

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
I made these and it's way more than one household with 3 kids needs to be consuming. I ended up cutting them up and giving a baggie full to 2 separate next door neighbors. The first guy took one out of the baggie and ate it and wanted to steal the other baggie. Guess that means they went over well. LOL

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I had no idea how easy it was to make a homemade lemon meringue pie or i would have done it much sooner. It got rave reviews and my husband asked for a chocolate custard pie with this meringue on top.

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
I added raisins and a little lemon juice to the apples and a pinch of nutmeg to the sugar mixture that I mixed the apples in like others have suggested. I messed up the crumb topping. I guess the butter got softer than intended so I ended up with a paste but I used it anyway. It still tasted great.

Rubbed and Grilled Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
great rub. I didn't grill it, I was baking it and I only had a 1 1/2 lb loin but it came out terrific.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Very good. I used applesauce instead of butter or oil to cut down on the fat and calories a bit. left the topping on but used low fat margarine. No one else mentioned this but when I baked them the topping seemed to sink a little into the muffins but that was not a bad thing.. it created a brown sugar/cinnamon swirl in the middle of the muffin and made it almost decadent.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Excellent.. doubled recipe per suggestions and just sprinkled the cinnamon and sugar on the top and didn't measure it.. probably used less than stated.. only used 3/4 cup of each of the sugars (doubled recipe) and used 2 full granny smith apples which was probably 2 cups. Also added raisins b/c I love love love them and about 3 tblspns or so of apple juice.

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Very very good. We all enjoyed it. Used a bit more ham and less potatoes than called for and I only had Idaho potatoes so that's what I used. I used leftover ham from Christmas to make this and it was definitely a winner.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2013
This is a lot like my meatloaf but I like mine better. I do not like meatloaf with a bunch of stuff in it or any sauce on top. I use 1 lb (no leaner than 80/20 or it's too dry), 2/3 c milk, 1/4c ketchup, 1 egg, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper. A few tips: DO NOT overwork the meat or it will end up dry and tough--mix all the ingredients and then put meat in least and mix up by hand until combined. I never use a loaf pan.. always a 9x13. And like i said, don't use lean meat or it will be dry and tough. 80/20 is fine and should be fall apart moist.

Uncooked Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Great banana pudding--I actually used 2 boxes of sugar free pudding but kept the other stuff the same. The sugar free pudding boxes have very different ounces on their packages and even the 2 I had were very different. They added up to about 5 ounces though. I would have added milk if needed but after putting in the sour cream and the whipped topping it was perfect. Everyone loved it.

Easy Pineapple Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
really good.. I was skeptical about using the frosting but it was good.. I just used my own cream cheese frosting recipe though and made it a little less thick and sweet than I usually would. Cake needs a little cinnamon I think but definitely a keeper.

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I left out the spicy stuff and just used neck bones instead of ham.. added 5 slices of bacon and left everything else the same and everyone loved these. I'm not a fan of black eyed peas so I'll have to take their word for it.

Key Lime Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Really really good. Very light.. I did work with what I had though and used lemon juice and vanilla pudding.. even put in extra juice and I think next time I might use some extract too b/c the flavor in the cake was really light. Added vanilla extract to cake and to the icing as well as a couple of tblspns of butter to the icing. Put 1/2 on the cake warm as suggested by others and put the rest on after it cooled but my husband had already cut into it by then and was raving about how good it was.
