Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2014
Very good. Made a strawberry compote to go with it so it was a bit like a dense shortcake.

Old-Fashioned Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
Very good. I added some extra seasoning like thyme and celery salt. I'm not a fan of celery so I left that out and just put in a bag of frozen peas and carrots. Family loved it. I also didn't make the noodles, i just used egg noodles and put them in about 45 mins before serving and left it simmering and they were just fine.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2013
This is a lot like my meatloaf but I like mine better. I do not like meatloaf with a bunch of stuff in it or any sauce on top. I use 1 lb (no leaner than 80/20 or it's too dry), 2/3 c milk, 1/4c ketchup, 1 egg, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper. A few tips: DO NOT overwork the meat or it will end up dry and tough--mix all the ingredients and then put meat in least and mix up by hand until combined. I never use a loaf pan.. always a 9x13. And like i said, don't use lean meat or it will be dry and tough. 80/20 is fine and should be fall apart moist.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
This is awesome. I did everything as instructed but did use chocolate chips instead of peanut butter chips in the peanut butter mousse part. I also used chocolate chips instead of chopping up chocolate for the chocolate topping.

Used olive oil instead of butter and also did it on the dough cycle. Then I braided it and baked at 375. Basted with egg a few times while baking. Was very good.

Cheeseburger Soup Recipe | Taste of Home Recipes

Very filling.. I kind of made it my own. Left out celery and shredded 3 baby carrots and didn't feel like shredding the rest. Cut up a red bell pepper and added it. I thought the potatoes would be kind of odd but they actually weren't. They were good. I halved some grape tomatoes and added them to mine when I was ready to eat.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2013
This was pretty good. Very adaptable to what you like. I added peas, used regular carrots and red potatoes b/c that's what I had. I put a little too much vinegar in and had to add a cup more water but it was fine in the end after adding a bit of flour.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Very good. I forgot to add the water to the dough and left it in the microwave. Not sure what effect it would have had but the crust was great and several people commented that they loved it. I did double the crust.

Taco Bake

Reviewed: May 15, 2013
I got this recipe from someone's facebook page. I didn't have sala con queso but I had about a 1/4 block of velveeta queso in the fridge and just melted that and put in a cup or so of salsa and used that as "salsa queso". I'm giving 5 stars b/c of the ease. And I love that it only has 3 tortillas in the whole thing and is really just meat and cheese and salsa. I also added a chopped onion and some minced garlic to the beef when cooking. I used about 1 1/4 lbs of beef and eyeballed the shredded cheese. I think we would literally have this for a meal. It might be good also to put a layer of refried beans under the meat or maybe to mix black beans and corn into the meat mixture. So easy to modify to suit tastes.

Healthy and sooooo good. I might try frying up some bacon, crumbling it and adding that on top of the tomato.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
Took this to a neighborhood get together and it was devoured. Everyone loved and requested I make it more often. I used a 15 oz jar of alfredo and the chunk of cream cheese I had was only 3 oz. I don't know what people are talking about with the bad taste or texture from using alfredo sauce that's not refrigerated. I used ragu alfredo I pulled from my pantry. I didn't have fresh garlic so I added a couple of tablespoons of minced from a jar and about 1/4 tsp garlic powder. I eyeballed the parmesan and added a good bit extra to the top before baking.

Followed the recipe exactly and there is something wrong. It came out totally flat. I tried to do it as dough and the just bake it in the oven but the dough was way too wet.

Family loved it. I think I'll only put in 1/2 cup water next time though as it was a bit saucy. I added in some black beans and some spinach also with the chicken mixture.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Excellent. When it first came out warm it had that slightly crispy exterior and soft interior. After it cooled, the outside became softer with more of the chewy texture. Either way, it was great! Update: the last couple of times I've made this dough I have use the 2nd loaf to make cinnamon buns for dessert.. it doesn't matter what dough you use if you smother it with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cream cheese icing. :)
