About this Cook
I had a good chuckle today as I read my profile from April 2003... stating that I had little cooking experience. Now almost seven years later I figured I'd best update my profile. I love cooking and baking! Spicy is best, sweet is a close second. I enjoy tailoring foods to my wants and needs. Down food Down!
My favorite things to cook
anything good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My only real cooking tradtion is making my great-grandmother's recipe for chocolate chip cookies as a thank you. These aren't the regular chocolate chip cookies mind you...there is a "secret ingredient" to make them really gooey!
My cooking triumphs
Hrm luckily a lot! Any cooking triumph is one where someone either says I want the recipe (and then calls again for it) or asks for seconds.
My cooking tragedies
Tragedies...um there isn't enough room here to list them all.

Buttermilk Bread II
super easy and yummy. I only did half of the recipe and it worked great. Makes AMAZING french toast.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
Really good! I modified a little for the amount of food I needed. I still used only one bottle of sauce. I put eight frozen breasts into the pot along with 2/3 bottle of sauce, garlic, and onion. I then added 2 cups of chicken broth so that all the chicken was covered. Cooked this on low for 7 hours adding the ranch packet with 2 hours left. We also served ours on toasted buns with blue cheese dressing. So simple and so good! Keeper for sure!

Ham and Fresh Basil Pinwheels
good for what it is - easy finger food. I added some green onion and a little garlic powder and pepper. The basil was a great diversion from the normal roll-up recipes.
