Pulled Pork Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2015
Like others, I really didn't want the BBQ pulled pork again so I came here and found this recipe. Pretty much followed it as written except I didn't have green pepper. I used celery instead. I really had no idea how this was going to come out but everyone liked it. I think I had way more meat than what was called for so I probably should have added more milk cuz it was dry even though I added another egg. But some brown gravy seemed to help and it was gobbled up and voted To Be Made Again!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2015
Everybody liked it. I'd prefer to make it this way than from the can. I browned the beef with Worcester sauce and fresh onion and green pepper. Drained the grease and added ketchup mustard and brown sugar and black pepper. I added more brown sugar than I probably should have but no one seemed to mind.

Herb, Garlic and Bacon Pork Loin

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2014
It was pretty good for my first try.. Pretty tasty! Everybody ate it and my hubby wants the leftovers tonight.. I used 2 1/2 T of Italian seasonings in lieu of the sage and basil. I let that sit in the broth while I prepared the roast and minced the garlic. Next time I'll shove whole garlic cloves in the the roast then wrap in bacon.

Dump Cake V

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2014
My family LOVED this even though I didn't make it exactly right. (I didn't read the reviews first! ) I told them you'll like it even more next time. And have it with vanilla ice cream, OMG! I dumped crushed pineapple in a greased 9x13 and spread it evenly then cherry pie filling then cake mix. Patted it down and put butter squares on top. Next time more butter!

Homemade Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
My family was VERY happy with this. I followed the recipe but didn't have enough kethup so I added 8oz tomato sauce. There was a little more brown sugar than I'd like because more fell out of the bag than I was expecting but the family didn't mind at all. I actually had to note that with manwich there's always some left with 2 darn buns left. All buns and Joe were gone :)

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2014
It came out perfect! I doubled the recipe using 2cream of potato and 2cream of chicken. I used poultry seasoning instead of just thyme. I followed other reviewers and added garlic powder minced onion black pepper. I stirred in chicken broth to thin out the mixture so it could be stirred. It was very thick. I used a 10x14 glass dish, ungreased, laid two rolls of pie crust down making sure it went up the sides. Scooped the mixture in the dish and covered with the last two rolls. I wiped with an egg wash and it came out beautiful and tasted awesome!

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
I've never made soup before especially cream soup. I read thru the reviews and used 1c:3/4 butter/flour roux adding fresh onion but lessened the liquids to 4c broth 4c cream (because I didn't want 18 servings!) then adding broth to thin it out. Another suggestion that worked very well was in lieu of processed cheese (Velveeta) I used softened cream cheese and an additional 2-3 cups of shredded cheddar. I pretty much just kept adding cheddar until it was the color I wanted. Almost 6 cups. We steamed 7c of fresh broccoli because we love broccoli! Next time I'll use 1/2:1/2 for roux. The soup was REALLY thick.

Polish Meat and Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
I followed a few reviewers and baked this in a 375 oven for an hour. I put the sausage on the bottom and sliced potato on top. I had a mixture of onion green pepper and olive oil with the spices and put it on the potatoes. Baked uncovered for 45 minutes then stirred it all together and baked for another 15 minutes. It was good.

This is how I've always made meatloaf minus the gravy packet and hot sauce which I'm going to try next time.

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
This turned out GREAT! I used 2% milk and added 2 egg yolks like reviewers suggested. I also slowly added the dry ingredients to the cold milk stirring w/ a with a whisk and then heated up the milk stirring constantly adding the yolk as I stirred. Taste testing as I went I was worried it was going to be too starchy. But NOPE! Not at all! Came out delicious! Next TRY, Rice Pudding!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
The whole family LOVED it. Even the VERY picky grandson. I basically followed the recipe as written using Rotini noodles, garlic salt and fresh ground pepper to taste and since I had a lot of leftover chicken I used that instead of poaching. I also added just a sprinkle of garlic and onion powder. Wow this was SO good. Leftovers? As if!

Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2013
I've never made bread pudding before but NOW I'm making it every week! The family LOVED this. I used dried bread strips I bought from Jewel. This made it very easy to just tear off little pieces while it's cooling, just so you know. ;)

Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
My family LOVES this meal. I've made it many times now. I used 1 cream of Mush and 1 chicken. I added about 1/2 cup of sour cream and 1/2 of milk. I seasoned that mixture with garlic salt, minced onion and pepper. Poured that over the Muenster covered seasoned chicken breasts. This time I used Pepperidge Farm Onion/Sage bread cubes. Using Stove Top makes it *ridiculously* TOO salty. If you have Swiss cheese, use it but the Muenster was ok.

The Most Easy and Delish Meatloaf EVER!

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
The moistest tastiest EASIEST meatloaf EVER. I followed the recipe as written except I drained about half the water from the can of Rotel and used garlic salt instead of powder. I also added the ketchup right in the begining. No need to pull it out towards the end to add ketchup. My little family of 3 ate the whole thing and wanted more!

One Pot Pinto Beans

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
This came out great. A HUUGE hit with the family. Things I've learned.. Weigh the bag before you assume its 2 lbs.. I must have ended up with 10 lbs of cooked beans. Soak the beans overnight, they won't absorb as much water during cooking.. For my family this was perfect for the beef/bean burritos we made but would never eat it as a main or side dish. For us, it's to make with burritos. Or as a dip but a lot of trouble for some bean dip.

Black Beans and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
I've made this a few times using fresh pico de gallo instead of salsa since it has the cilantro in it already. I also add frozen corn. It's a complete meal and turns out great! This last time I didn't have the Pico so I substituted a can of Rotel and seasoned with Adobo still adding the corn. I served with Adobo seasoned Angel Hair noodles. Came out very good too. Every time I've made this, the pork chops come out SO tender. You know they like it when the table goes silent while everyone's eating.

Cheeseburger Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
It was less than OK until you put seasonings in it. I have since turned it into a family favorite. :) With Italian seasoning, fresh garlic, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, ground pepper and beef stock in the crock pot.. Even better as leftovers.. :)
