Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
We love these rolls (I've been making bread and rolls for years and years) these are wonderfully soft and stay moist for days. We do substitute butter or margarine for the shortening, and I always butter my hands when forming the rolls, otherwise we prepare the recipe as written. Thanks for sharing such a keeper!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2014
We use this recipe exclusively and love it. I Do add a dash of chili powder, and 1/3 cup of dry oats (helps it stick together well), and we always serve Brickhouse slaw on top. (2 cups shredded cabbage,1/4 c. diced onion, 1 shredded carrot, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/8 tsp black pepper, 2/3 cup real mayonnaise)--my husband was NEVER a slaw fan but now refuses to have his Joes served any other way!!) Excellent recipe!

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
Fantastic recipe. I personally add additional cocoa powder, and when I make my frosting, I cook the sugar in with the flour as it is completely smooth and light that way. Phenomenal recipe. Thank you!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
These were super, however we followed another reviewers suggestion and used Panko as our final crumb coating. Also, I decreased the salt to only 1 tsp, added 1/4 cup sugar to the egg mixture, and 1/2 tsp vanilla (similar to an old drive-in restaurant)and as modified, we will make these from here on out. Thanks for a great recipe!

My hubby LOVES this recipe. It is our go-to for chicken fried steak, fried gizzards, and fried pork sandwiches (delish). 5 stars as written IMO. Excellent recipe thank you SO much!

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I give this recipe a 5, but I DID make this change: I use 1/3 cup flour, mix it AND the sugar together, THEN add the milk and cook until thick. Cool and add vanilla and butter after. Excellent light and fluffy frosting, perfect for Waldorf Astoria cake!!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
We LOVE this recipe--I keep it mostly as written, yet we don't use ketchup as it is full of high fructose corn syrup. Instead, I add one can of drained, diced, chili-ready tomatoes and onions, and a 14.5 0z can of tomato sauce, blend all in blender or food processor, and then put in a crock so it can simmer all day as the meat smokes. It is thick, and delicious!!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
This was superb. I will have to play around with how much salt to use, as my first attempt, I over-did the salt, but absolutely superb. My hubby and I both loved it, and will definitely be making again!! Thanks for such an easy and fantastic way to make a great super-food!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
This truly is the BEST bread macine loaf ever. It is made weekly in our home as I dont buy storebought bread. It slices oh so nicely, and is moist until we eat the very last piece. I did use others' suggestions of 3 Tbsp sugar, and use 1 1/2 tsp salt, sometimes I even add a Tbsp of butter extract, but every way we fix it, it is excellent. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
Sadly I wasn't impressed with this waffle recipe. I Have a new waffle iron, but it wasn't even remotely crispy, and apparently 5 servings per this recipe is 5 waffles. Major bummer and won't be making again.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
This recipe was superb. My only change was using 1/2 teriyaki sauce and 1/2 Braggs Amino Acids, in lieu of the soy sauce. We absolutely loved it.

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I actually enrolled so I could comment on this. Flavor is OK...but the sauce is ridiculous. It makes WAY too much...Not even really a thin issue, as I added extra flour...Followed the rest of it to the letter. RIDICULOUS. I served my famille macaroni and cheese soup, and was desperately glad we did NOT have company.(Should have gone with my gut on the milk lol!!!)
