Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes
TASTY! These are the new hit at our house - made them Christmas Day and heard only positive remarks (and the empty slow cooker spoke to how much our group liked them). I made the recipe with one *slight* alteration - I used Herb & Garlic cream cheese - because I wanted them to have a bit of punch. Everything else I did exactly as stated. The cooking time was perfect and the potatoes (with skins on) were easy to mash. I used someone's earlier suggestion of having a clean terry cloth dishtowel under the lid to collect moisture and to avoid the potatoes from becoming watery - worked like a charm! I stirred every hour or so and in total mine were in the slow cooker about 5 hours. This served 10 people (with many taking seconds) and nothing was left. Will make again!

Brown Sugar Smokies
What is there not to like? Bacon + brown sugar??? Pretty darn good. And easy to do. Followed recipe exactly. Secured bacon with a toothpick and placed them on a broil pan with the bottom foiled lined (super easy clean up). Cooked about 15 min EACH side - until the sugar was melted and gooey and the bacon was sizzling. These were a huge hit Christmas Day and I'll be making them again.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs
I thought this recipe was very good. I liked the idea of cooking for 15min/e side at the start to drain off some of the grease. I cooked as directed in slow cooker (8 hours on slow) and the result was fall off the bone ribs - PERFECT! Because my family isn't big on ketchup, I did make a slight alternation (in place of ketchup, I used 2C of Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce). I also cut the amount of vinegar in half (personal preference). My family enjoyed them and I will be using this again in the future!
