I've worked in food service for years as a server, hostess, bartender, and line cook so I am always interested in getting new recipes and cooking new foods for me and my boyfriend to try.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking steaks, chicken, and pork chops. I'm trying to broaden my horizons with recipes for those meat categories. I also love love love pastas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My aunt makes THE BEST homemade baked mac n' cheese ever on thanksgiving and christmas and my grandma makes the best biscuits. Every christmas morning my mom always makes an egg casserole with sausage and peppers and onions and ham and her baking during the holidays is out of this world!
My cooking triumphs
I have to say that I haven't cooked anything amazing but I haven't cooked anything awful either.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had cooking tragedies but I do remember when my sister gave herself 2nd degree burns trying to make a cup of noodles...

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna
So, this recipe was a little difficult because everything cooked faster than I could keep up. I also forgot to buy spinach at the grocery store so I left that out. (I added more chicken to make up for the lack of spinach). It turned out to be very delicious and something that is also just as good as leftovers. Definitely making this one again (probably with the spinach next time) :)

Brown Sugar Chops
Absolutely delicious! I changed the recipe slightly though and melted butter and brown sugar to make a glaze as well as putting the brown sugar and butter on top of the chops. This was a big valentine's day hit! You also do not need to put foil over the dish. I have cooked them twice now, once with foil, and once without foil and I think the chops were more flavorful without the foil. (they also cook faster).

Best Chocolate Pound Cake
This recipe is not very easy considering this is the first cake I've ever made from scratch. It took a little over 2 hours for me to make. However, it turned out to be absolutely delicious! The outside is a little crunchy but that is probably because I am still getting used to my oven. It is very moist inside the crunchy part though. Definitely going to make this cake again!
