Valentines Day conversation CUPCAKES!
About this Cook
Hi! My name is Maise, I am only 17, but lets push that to the side in the kitchen now:) I always like making sweet goods since I was about 12, I recently became a little obsessed when I saw cupcake wars.I'm a HUGE sweet tooth & LOVE the show just blew my mind away (& opened the oven) ;) lolz
My favorite things to cook
Cupcakes , cookies, pies.. (SWEETS)!I love making desserts, I am a huge sweet tooth & I LOVE ANY excuse to bring cupcakes to work or make cookies. I am obsessed with decorating the cupcakes! OH & MINIS! I went crazy over Christmas w/ lk 70 or something!haha
My favorite family cooking traditions
My pepaw does Cakes, not cupcakes (thts ME!) BUT GOOD CAKES!Our family gets together often, celebrating atleast 1 bday a month, everybody might bring a lil something but My Pepaw brings THE CAKE.aND EVERYONE LOVES IT! His are the ones that just go that one step above perfect & you think he's made em all the BAM- a new formula?hahaha seriously! My FAVE is his redvelvet, and tunnel of fudge... other family members adore other classics like his carrot cake (carrots in cake?-not me) but his cream cheese icing is THE BEST.IN. THE WORLD. I dare someone to try & top it!
My cooking triumphs
hmm..This past thanksgiving I made 4 pies! That was sort of my "entrance" or bug thing that I did that made the family notice, I like to bake & CAN do it!Normaly I do all the requesting at gatherings, that was the first time I really made something, the best one I think was my Apple pie (1st attempt even:)
My cooking tragedies
hmm..fortunatly so for (not tht Ive been doing this for a while so..) I haven't exactly had a "tradgedy" BUT.. One time I was making chocolatey-pepermint mini cupcakes for work, I didn't prepare for the minis so I ended up baking til like 1am...won't do that again!

Buttermilk Syrup
this was chunky & hard, after it cooled it turned into a block-ok so we re-heated it, then stirred & it just turns into a gloopy, chunky mess. nooootttt syrupy at all. this disapointed my morning w/ french toast!

Whole Wheat Pita Bread
This was great at Easter! They were just stuffing these pockets with anything- hummus or ham.. my younger teen sister put pasta salad in it... You do have to add salt w/ DRY ingredients..toward END!NOT WITH YEAST! It turned out delish & made pockets just like the store bought have!:)

Hard Chocolate Glaze
This was PERFECT! !st though... I used about 1 & 1/4 C. semisweet choc. chips...and melted in the microwave...WORKED GREAT! i dipped choc. cupcakes in this..put it in the fridge to set, although you don't have to unless you want it harder/ chilled like that. Otherwise you can let it set on the counter & It is FAB:) we were litterally dipping each bite of cupcake in this at easter...and we dipped mini lemon cakes in it die for!
