Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
WOW - this puff pastry is delicious and SUPER easy to make! I just rolled some jam in them and baked at 375 for 10-15min. Make sure you actually roll out the dough to a max of 1/8th of an inch! Any thicker and the dough doesn't flake up and stays a little too moist. If you follow the recipe and directions properly - this stuff is PERFECT! I can't wait to try it with a savory filling next!

Beer Battered Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
Batter is quite tasty, and I can imagine it being really delicious on fish, but it was a little too doughy for onion rings (in my opinion).

Cabbage Rolls III

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This recipe is REALLY good! A great alternative to the tomato sauce recipes. I made it for my in-laws and they loved it. I will add a few more spices to the filling next time to give it a little more flavour, but this is a GREAT basic recipe and really easy to make! Thank you for sharing!

Nicole's Winter Carrot Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I substituted 1 cup rice flour and 1.5 cups chick pea flour to make this wheat free and it came out FANTASTIC! The first muffin recipe I've made with substitute flours that was as good as the original! I also added an extra cup of grated veggies to counter for the dryness of the rice flour. Thank you!!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
It's tough to make kale into something that just about anyone will eat - but this is it! I baked them without the parchment paper, just because I didn't have any and found that the ones in direct contact with the cookie sheet actually came out tasting closer to potato chips! GREAT recipe! Thanks!!

No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

These were very tasty and totally solved my chocolate craving! I added a bit more oats and a bit of rice flour to firm them up a bit, but that's just my taste.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

These biscuits were delicious and easy to prepare. They tasted like my grandmother's. We added a little cheese for fun and they turned out beautifully. Thanks for the great recipe! (and for not using baking mix! :) )

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: May 16, 2004
This cake was very good, just not moist enough for me. It had a great rich flavour and I turned it into a black forest cake which everyone loved using the best ever white icing recipe on here. Was VERY good but I'm going to keep looking for a lighter moist cake recipe.

Gumdrop Candy

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
This candy never really firmed up enough even after I chilled it overnight. It was MUCH too sweet and didn't really have the right texture for a gumdrop. It is also physically impossible to "tap" out of the pan. I was having a serious craving and this didn't satisfy

I made this with margarine, gram crackers, and no nuts. SO GOOD! It really does taste like score bars. If you want to make it even more so...just leave out the crackers! DELICIOUS!

Elsye's Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2004
These were pretty good, although the icing came out a little granular once it cooled. A great way to get rid of old chocolate sauce in the fridge. I took them over to a bunch of my guy friends and they demolished them (but I'm pretty sure they don't chew). Had several comments on leaving off the icing next time. I'll let you know!

Healthier Graham Cracker Crust

This was a little sticky, but very easy to make and an EXCELLENT substitute when you want to reduce the fat in your crust. I used it for a strawberry mousse, it was a little sweet, but delicious!

Broccoli and Rice Stir Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
A tasty and VERY easy recipe to make. I didn't have any eggs and it still turned out fine. It's not very flavourful but it is very nice with some red peppers and frozen stir fry veggies. I also added a little chicken to give flavour. Try adding some soy sauce to the veggies and chicken while they cook up. It helps the flavour to sink in. The spices I added were also very useful. A good base to build from for my first time ever making stir fry! Thanks for your help! I wish every university student knew about this site!

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
This is a tasty recipe, but the topping didn't work too well for me. I doubled up on it as someone else recommended but I didn't enjoy it as the juices didn't make it moist enough. Live and learn....otherwise, it tasted very good! Make SURE to use sour apples

This is a good recipe and easy to make. It went over well with guests. I added broccoli, ham, red and orange peppers. If you put other ingredients in then you only need half the filling (thank you other review). A nice tasty dinner!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
I got RAVE reviews for this one from family, friends and co-workers. This recipe is quick to make (except the apple prep) and tastes AMAZING! This will stay in my recipe box! I plan on making it again soon. Stick to the shorter end of the baking time or the crust gets too dark. The longer you leave this in the fridge, the better it tastes!

Very easy to make and cooks up quickly. The sauce thickens very quickly so make sure to start your pasta at the same time or a little before. Absolutely delicious!
