Pumpkin Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I'm sorry! I really wanted to like it, but, although edible, it was very bland. Neither my husband or kiddos went back for more and we ended up with a ton of leftovers. I tried to doctor it for another meal but alas, this just isn't for us.

Fresh Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
Awesome! My husband and young kiddos loved it too! I sauteed the onions with some garlic while the shell was baking. Other than that, I followed the recipe. I topped it with tons of fresh minced basil. What didn't get devoured for dinner got eaten for breakfast the next morning!

Stuffed Tomato Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
I love the idea of the fresh tomato and basil with the provolone, but in the execution it didn't work for us. The chicken breast was dry and way overdone. Though edible, no one wanted seconds. Thank you for sharing. I'd like to tweak this a bit and work with it to make it work for us. I will probably pound the chicken, marinate it, put in the "stuffing" and roll it and try it at a much lower temp for a shorter duration.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
We eat a lot of pancakes, so I like looking for different variations. We thought these were so-so: Definitely edible but not memorable. We probably won't add these to our pancake rotation.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
These are good, but my husband nor my children really ate them, so I ended up eating leftovers for several days. They aren't difficult but aren't good enough that I'll likely make them again. Thanks for sharing!

Fast and Delicious Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Thanks for sharing! I love black beans so was excited to try this. I followed recipe as stated, though eyeballed the chicken stock and seasonings, and did end up adding another can of beans to make it go further. I also pureed the whole thing, as I like pureed soup. Will make again!

Pico De Gallo

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
Thank you for the recipe! I was so excited to try it, but unfortunately, it just wasn't right for me. I found the onion/tomato ratio way off. I even added another tomato and it was still so very strong on the onion flavor that we couldn't eat it without our eyes watering. I used the food processor and used fresh garlic, the juice of a lime and extra cilantro, as per other reviewers. I would try this again but I would only use half the onion and would add an extra (3) tomato.

Cool Raspberry Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
Very sweet recipe. The sour cream cuts it a bit but I think if I make it again I'll try replacing some or all of the wine and/or juice with water. Difficult to serve in a non-formal setting. Could go with a salad for a simple summer dinner but we have small children so opted for homemade rolls instead. My 18 month old and I liked it, but my husband and 4 year old could only eat a small amount due to the sweetness.

Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
So odd we had to try it! Who knew a 1.5 year old liked sauerkraut? Will make again.

Raspberry Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
I made this with my young daughter as written. We did get two nice-sized pies from the recipe. We thought it was very good and would make it again!

Savory Grilled Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
This was easy to make, but it just wasn't that special enough that we are willing to give up our corn with just plain old butter, salt, pepper, and maybe cajun. Sorry :(

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
Good, and fun to make with the kids. I didn't change anything. I won't likely ever crave them, but they'll never go uneaten!

Baked Apples with Mint

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
We ate them, so they weren't bad. But overall I didn't care for the mint. It was very easy though, and my husband at them, so thank you. We probably won't make them again.

Apple Cider Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I ALWAYS make a recipe as written first - but this one is an exception. I followed the Bisquick recipe (since that was what I was using as my "complete pancake mix") and used eggs. I added all of the ingredients on here as listed, except for the apple cider, in which I'm certain I used quite a bit more than called for to get the consistency I wanted. The scent while cooking is unbelievable. I did have to play with the consistency and the temps on my stove to get these right, and I never actually felt like I actually got them perfectly done. Oh well - they were good, and we'll make them again as stated. Thanks.

Lime Chicken Picante

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This recipe sounded odd, which is right up my alley! We were disappointed. We doubled the marinade as suggested in other reviews and did not end up with enough to saute with at the end - and we only used 4 chicken breasts! I found it edible but the rest of the family did not. I *get* the dijon - it has an after taste that seems to go well with the lime - but the initial bite does not flow for me. The yogurt was a great touch. All in all, the rest of my family said no more, and even though I ate mine, I won't make it again. Thanks though.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
They were okay. I was disappointed, as the ingredients sounded mouth-watering. We all ate them, but not sure we'll make again. Taco seasoning, as others have said, would probably be better than the chili powder. I did put a whole stick (8oz) of cream cheese, but still "meh".

Very yummy and very easy. We, too, used salsa as that's what we had. A staple.

Fudgey Peanut Butter Chip Muffins

This was easy and we liked them. I wouldn't say we absolutely LOVED them. I'm not sure if we'll make them again but they will get eaten!

Sesame Chicken with Honey Sauce

Thank you for sharing! We LOVED this recipe. I didn't have high expectations, and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a keeper and likely one I'll make a few times a month.

These were cakey and not cheescake-like at all, IMO. They were good, but not great, and I likely won't make them again. Thank you for sharing.
