Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Outstanding! I used Cape Cod Fat Free Raspberry Vinagrette to make it easier. This is so good, it is great for a weekday meal or a special occasion. My kids loved it too!!!

Hot Crab Dip

Very easy to make and so delicious! Very easy to reheat leftovers, too. This recipe makes a lot. I used the canned crab for convenience and got rave reviews. I'll be making this again!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
This is a great recipe! I will never buy pizza sauce again - and will probably make pizza at home versus ordering out more often now too! I didn't have time to make my own crust - I will do that next time, but this sauce was so easy to make and tasted delicious.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
Super easy and delicious. I made this for my daughter's 3rd grade class for their Thanksgiving celebration. It goes great with Pumpkin Dip from this website, too. Try spreading a little of that on a slice of bread - it is heaven! The kids loved it so much I went through 3 loaves. I had to come home and make another batch for us to have over the weekend. Absolutely fabulous - and very easy. And the aroma in the house while it was baking was so wonderful, I may make this every week just for the delightful scent!

German Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
This recipe was exactly what I was looking for! My 8 year old loves cole slaw - not the mayo kind - so I was looking for a quick and easy recipe to throw together. This was perfect. I bought the bag of cole slaw (no dressing) which had green cabbage, red cabbage and carrots already in it. I made it exactly like the recipe said since I was using a large bag of slaw - yes there was too much dressing, but that was no big deal. The celery seeds are key. Fantastic recipe - will definitely make again.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
This is a marvelous idea on a classic salad. We love tomato mozzarella salad but when served this way it becomes a finger food. Absolutely fantastic!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Absolutely perfect! I made it in the microwave as the other reviews suggested which made this so quick and esay. I made it for Lisa's Chocolate Chip Cake - brought it to a picnic and the cake was gone before I could get a slice. I did manage to get a bite from my daughter's plate though. It was amazing! This was probably one of the easiest desserts I've made in a long time - and everyone thought I had slaved in the kitchen for hours!!

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
I made this for a neighborhood picnic - I used the full version - I don't believe in cutting calories on my chocolate desserts!!! I put the Satiny Chocolate Glaze (from this site) on top. It not only smelled amazing - it was gone before I could get a slice. This is probably the easiest dessert I have made in a long time and it got rave reviews!!!

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I adjusted the recipe for 24 servings so I could use my 13x9 pan as others suggested. Used parchmant paper which made taking the bars out and cutting them a breeze. I had made extra pie crust for Thanksgiving so I used my husband's grandmother's pie crust but followed the recipe otherwise. Cooking time required additional 15 minutes. Very good and got rave reviews and a few requests for the recipe!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I've tried many different methods of cooking a turkey over the years and they've all been pretty good, but I've never found one I would be committed to doing again and again... until now! I pretty much followed the directions, with only 1 modification that made for the perfect meal. My 15 pounder needed to cook for a little over 4 hours. I covered it with foil for the first 2 hours then removed the foil, added 2 cans of chicken broth to the pan and basted the turkey every 15 minutes for the remaining 2 hours. It came out looking like a magazine cover - better than any turkey I have ever seen before. And the taste was amazing. It was moist and flavorful. This will be the only way I make turkey from now on!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This was so good and so easy to make! I needed more cool whip for the layers, though. I used almost 2x what the recipe called for. I let it set for about 6 hours before it was served and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I read all of the reviews and tried to compile the best of the best since so many people complained of problems. I added 1/4 more flour and 1 egg, per others' recommendations. Then I chilled the dough for an hour. I used my Pampered Chef scoop and rolled them into balls, flattening slightly so they represented saucers slightly larger than a quarter. I used the chapstick for the preserves as recommended - worked perfectly! I tried my first batch lowering the oven temp, but that didn't seem to work, so I baked them at 350 as directed. Mine took about 19 minutes each to bake. Maybe mine were larger? My batch yielded 32 cookies. I haven't tried the icing yet - they are delicious as is. But I might try it and see which I like better. Every year for Christmas I try a new cookie. Some never make it to the dessert table and of those that do, most don't return the following year. But these are a keeper! They will be part of my cookie repetoire going forward! Thanks for a great recipe!

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
These are wonderful! I would have posted a picture but they were gone before I could find the camera. I made these with others' suggestions - bake the bottom layer of crescent rolls for 10 minutes first, pat the peppers dry. They were delicious! I don't know how it would work but I want to make these again and add sliced marinated mushrooms - those are my favorite part of antipasto!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
Have faith - this really is as simple as the recipe states. No need for eggs and oil. I whipped these up because I needed something new for lingering houseguests after Christmas and I had everything on hand. They were gone in a flash. The only suggestion I would have is to break up some of the lumps in the cake mix before adding the pumpkin. It will make it easier to get the batter smooth.

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Very good and so easy! I brought this to a neighbor's for dinner and this was supposed to be the kids' dessert. Everyone - kids and adults - had seconds! I mixed hot fudge and peanut butter (no need to heat up) and followed others' suggestions to layer the ice cream sandwiches, chocolate/peanut butter sauce, then cool whip and repeat. I chopped up mini peanut butter cups and sprinkled them on top. Will definitely make this again!
