Man Pleasin' Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
I don't understand all the rave reviews of this recipe. I thought it would be a good jamabalaya recipe to try and it was just bland to me. I even added louisiana hot sausage, garlic, hot sauce, shrimp...it just wasn't that great. It's rare that I salt my food, but I certainly did on this one.

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Amazing salad with a few modifications. I candied the walnuts in a pan with some brown sugar instead of toasting them in the oven. I also put half the onion in the dressing and the other half directly in the salad. Threw some craisins in the salad as well. Also, I used craisins in the dressing, not fresh cranberries as some reviewers were saying. It was deeeeelish! Everyone was talking about it at a dinner party I brought it to. :) Oh, one more thing! I added goat cheese to the salad and it was SO yum with the apples and cranberry flavor.

I followed this recipe EXACTLY for Thanksgiving dinner and it was a HIT. You really can't go wrong with this one.

Cranberry, Sausage and Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
The BEST stuffing I have ever had. I've made it twice now. The first time I used a mix of half hot italian sausage and half mild. The second time, I used all hot and if you like spicy food, it gave the stuffing an extra kick that was quite yummy!

Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was the runaway hit at Christmas dinner - it was loved even by devout yam haters! I did not have white sugar, so used all brown sugar and it was still delicious. It is sweet, but no sweeter than the normal yam marshmallow concoction we usually make, so if your group digs that - this will not be too sweet for them. Again, an AMAZING yam recipe. Don't let the frosted flakes scare you off...it seems strange, but the end result is magnifique!

Gorgonzola Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This was yumminess. Not outstanding, but good. Don't use too much gorgonzola as it's a pretty potent cheese and not everyone enjoys that! Otherwise, it's an easy appetizer with good flavor.

GREAT SALAD! Everytime I make this, everyone raves. This has become my standard "bring to dinner" recipe. Follow it exactly and you will not be disappointed! =)

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
This recipe is awesome! Don't let the taste when you first make it fool you. It definitely needs to sit overnight...once you do that - magnifique! I had a BBQ and made this...everyone was raving about it by nights end. I cut back on the salami a tad....but that was my only change. Thank you!

Savory Summer Pie

oh my GAWD! Yum! I just made this recipe....and while I planned to eat at 8, and it's now 10 and I've just finished - it was REALLY good. I highly recommend it...just ignore that pesky 45 minute cooking time. At 45 minutes, start CHECKING on it.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2003
huh, I guess I'm weird when I say that I didn't think these were the absolute best chocolate chip cookies ever. They were VERY good mind you, but not "better than sex" as one reviewer put it. Almost...well, not even really almost... =) Seriously though, these have become a permanent addition to my collection and I will make again and again. It's a huge recipe - cut it in half unless you are feeding a small army!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2003
I didn't change a thing - well, almost - I did use olive oil. Anyway, it was GREAT! Really, this is easy, yummy, and very flavorful. I accidentally poured out the marinade so I was not able to baste the kabobs as they cooked, but that didn't matter much. I will definitely make again. Thanks! =)
