World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
Made this for Christmas dinner, had to double the recipe. Everyone loved it. Ate leftovers for lunch the next day.I have several lasagna recipes but this one is, by far, the best one I've made. I used "no cook" noodles. Since they are thinner than regular lasagna noodles, next time I will layer differently. I will use a separate layer for the meat sauce rather than spreading over the cheese. This will allow for an extra layer of noodles. Regardless, it was a hit with my family, so will be making again. Thank you for sharing. P.S.- It's even better the next day!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I have made guacamole for many years but this is, by far, the best recipe I have come across. I only used about 1/4 teaspoon of salt and added a seeded, veined and chopped jalapeno in lieu of the cayenne pepper.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
I made this sauce for the first time two years ago and it has been a favorite ever since. One time I only had rum and used it instead of the whiskey. Sauce was just as good. I've also added about half a cup of water to thin out a little bit. Otherwise, thick is fine too.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2004
The best and easiest sauce ever! Will never buy bottled nor prepackaged sauce again. I used minimal margarine, lowfat cream cheese and milk. I parcooked the pasta. Placed it in a casserole dish with the sauce. Baked it covered for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees. If the sauce gets too thick add a little more milk and margarine and place back in the oven. Sprinkled more cheese on top when serving. My family was thrilled. Will definitely make again and again. Thanks Dawn for sharing the recipe!

Balsamic Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2003
I didn't have baby carrots so I used regular carrots and sliced them diagonally. I also boiled them for a coule of minutes before sauteying. Even my picky son loved them. Good choice with garlicky mashed potatoes. Thanks for recipe.

Garlicky Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2003
I never thought that mashed potatoes with chicken broth would taste so good. I used light cream, low fat milk and light sour cream. I also cut down the butter by one third. It still came out great. The garlic flavor made it a big hit! A definite side dish for the holidays.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2003
2/7/11. I've recommended this recipe to friends and family and everyone has told me that it's the best meatloaf recipe they have made. I agree! 7/16/2010. Review update. I first made this meatloaf a few years ago. Since then, it's become a family favorite. I make it at least every other week. I read some of the other reviews before making this dish. I substituted half lean ground beef and half ground turkey. I used low salt crackers and low fat cheese. The outcome was a juicy and tasty meat loaf. Thanks for the recipe Connie.

Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
I've tried many recipes but this is by far the best. It's great with ground beef, turkey or pork. This has been a big hit with my family and friends. I have even served it at chruch for potluck dinners. The only thing I added was a teaspoon of mustard powder. When I've been out of tomato paste, I've substituted tomato sauce and it comes out just as good. Highly recommend this recipe.

Quick and simple pasta recipe. Flavorful and aromatic. Sprinkled some freshly grated parmessan cheese right before serving. Served it with chicken marsala. My family loved it. Even my son who doesn't like tomatoes. A definite five star winner!

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
Wonderful recipe. My family loved it! Instead of simmering, I browned the chicken in a skillet then placed the browned pieces in a preheated slow cooker. Covered and alllowed to steam while I sauteed the mushrooms in the skillet. I added the wine and sherry to mushrooms and allowed sauce to reduce. Then added to the chicken in the slow cooker. Chicken was fork tender and the sauce thickened a bit. Received great compliments. Will make again. Cookie S.
