No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
This is a wonderful option for people who are lactose intolerant and can't have cream. My toddlers are very picky eaters, but they eat this with no fuss. I do halve the amount of balsamic vinegar for them, though, and just use whatever veggies we have on hand at the time.

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
I have made this in disposable mini tins for bake sales and as part of my annual holiday treat boxes. It is a wonderful bread. My only substitutions are that I use brown sugar in place of the white and shred my apples instead of chopping them. My toddlers ask me for the "apple bread" over the chocolate chip banana bread. Now THAT is high praise!

Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
EASY, FAST, and DELICIOUS! Just like grandma used to make! We used the whole wheat biscuits, turkey sausage and lowered the amount of milk a bit as we used fat free, lactose free milk. I only suggest you double the recipe as two adults and two toddlers ate all of this and were still asking for more!

Sesame Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
I made this exactly as written (except used low sodium soy sauce) and my kids LOVED IT. They aren't usually big pork eaters but both of my toddlers asked for "more pig please!" It turned out very tender and moist and had just the right amount of flavor. Thank you for sharing!

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
This is a favorite for our entire family, including two toddlers. It also lends itself very easily to modifications depending on tastes. Our favorite way to do it is to cook the orzo in low sodium chicken broth, we use leftover chicken which we previously seasoned and smoked so we don't add any salt, and we substitute 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables for the spinach. It is an EASY, FAST weeknight dinner that everyone loves and gets our kids to eat their veggies. Thanks for the post!

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
This is a great sauce. While yes, I do some tweaks of my own, it is excellent as written. My families personal preferences call for hot ground Italian sausage instead of sweet, and we throw in a bag of mini pepperonis as well. I also double the batch and use 1 28oz can crushed tomatoes and 1 28oz can petite diced tomatoes to add some extra texture. I throw it in the crock pot on low and let it simmer for about 8 hours and then freeze or pressure can the leftovers to use in future recipes. I haven't bought jarred sauce in over two years!
