I'm a Filipino-American born and raised in Southern California. I lived in NYC for 4 years, and ate at the best restaurants (NOT necessarily Michelin-starred, mind you). I now live in Barcelona, Spain with my husband and we're expecting a baby girl in a month!
My favorite things to cook
Filipino Adobo, rice, a perfect egg. Asian dishes are easiest for me to throw together (Filipino, Indian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, etc.), but I also love cooking French, Italian, Spanish and good old American classics!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom taught me how to make cheesecake when I was around 8 years old. Now I love to bake cheesecakes and pies for special, and not-so-special, occasions!
My cooking triumphs
Learning from and memorizing my grandmother's Filipino recipes! Also, trying and executing recipes from "the greats" :) like Julia Child and Jamie Oliver.
My cooking tragedies
I've forgotten food on the stove and left it to boil over one too many times...
