About this Cook
Retired since October, 2003. 68 to be years old.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking more than cooking
My favorite family cooking traditions
Greek Christmas Bread
My cooking triumphs
Greek Christmas Bread, Irish Soda Bread, Banana Bread and great cinnamon buns!
My cooking tragedies
First loaf of bread is still used as a paper weight! Just kidding! I made a loaf of Italian calabata. I used what I thought was flour for dusting the loaf and as a base for the loaf on a baking sheet. During the baking, my wife and I detected a very caustic smell. I thought it was the oven cleaning itself. Turned out it was baking soda. Horrible smell! Awful taste! I threw it out!

Belle's Baked Beans
I will (probably) never make baked beans from scratch again! Who needs to with this recipe? I offered this and other dishes for my Octoberfest! Everybody wanted copies of the recipe. Of course I obliged!

German Sausage Chowder
I used this recipe as the first dish I served at a recent backyard Octoberfest. My friends couldn't get enough!

Penne in Vodka Cream
Great! But I had to leave out the crushed red pepper in my next batch for the pennevodkophiles.
