I grew up with a mom who hated cooking (even though she cooked us every meal) so I didn't learn much about cooking growing up. I would like to give my kids good experiences helping out in the kitchen, so that when they leave home they'll know more than I did and hopefully enjoy cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Anything foolproof and/or easy!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My kids and I enjoy trying out new things. One day we made gigantic cookies and they just LOVED it!!
My cooking triumphs
Unfortunately there aren't any I can think of.
My cooking tragedies
Oh boy, the list could go on and on. Just recently I bought a box of beautiful peaches. I bottled half the way I always do, then decided to get brave and try making spiced peaches out of the other half. I don't know what went wrong, but they tasted AWFUL. We actually used them to play a joke on my dad. I excitedly told him how I'd spent ALL day in the kitchen making these peaches and was soo excited for him to try them. He was too nice to tell me right away how terrible they were, and just tried to smile through his first bite.
