AWESOME! I doubled the recipe and did everything the recipe said to do, and i added a few things of my own (2 tbsp Dakota Buckaroos Original Marinating Sauce, 2 tbsp Sriracha Chinese Hot Sauce bcuz we like a little heat, a tsp liquid smoke) My husband, an aspiring chef, closed his eyes to eat it! that's saying something for him!
oh, i did use a little less sugar because i'm more into savory than sweet. I doubled the recipe but used the same 1/2 c of brown sugar: just the right amount for me! Will definitely be using again.
WORD TO THE WISE: you do NOT have to discard the marinade!!!!!!! you can put it in a pot and boil it hard - and i mean HARD to kill all that bacteria - and use it to baste your chicken. Its like a homemade barbeque sauce. It makes sense, when you heat the chicken itself, the bacteria is killed, so why not the marinade too? Beautiful color and ridiculously delicious! but if you're not comfortable (tho we've done this several times with no adverse effects) by all means discard the marinade, but you'd be missing out!
