J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
I make these all the time, the only thing I do different is I do NOT knead the dough 14 or 15 times, I add the milk and stir for a second or two then flop it onto the lightly floured board, knead about 1 or 2 times until it sticks together, then roll or pat it out to about 1 1/2 inches thick, cut with a juice glass, put the biscuits onto a non- greased cookie sheet and bake, they come out light and fluffy, the extra kneading will make biscuits tough, the less you handle it the better. (same goes for pie dough, if you knead it too much, you end up with a tough crust).

Chicken Strawberry Spinach Salad with Ginger-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
have made this several times, the only thing I do different is I use orange juice or lemon juice as I have those trees,(instead of lime) and I don't use ginger as my husband does not like ginger. but otherwise follow the recipe and it is always great.

Mini Cheesecakes from PHILADELPHIA®

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
Have made these several times and they always turn out great. BTW mzflorida said "the recipe should not have egg whites." Nowhere in the recipe do I see egg whites, just "3 eggs" Nicki

Mom's Easy Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2014
For years I made chipped beef over toast using the Armor's chipped beef in a jar, but, lately it is about $6 a jar so stopped. Never even dawned on me to use Buddigs sliced beef. until I saw this recipe. We have now gone back to having chipped beef on toast again, my husband was really surprised when I made it yesterday morning.

I made this a couple of times and they turn out good, But, I do now put in the undisolved yeast and things. what I do is put the yeast, salt, sugar, and water together then wait a few minutes, then I add the flour and oil,and cheese, mix good and put into the muffin tins and let rise then bake, they turn out great.

The Best Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
It turned out pretty good. I did not bother to make a paste out of the mayo, cheese and garlic powder. I just spread some butter on the bread then some mayo, then sprinkled the parmesan cheese and garlic powder, then popped it into my toaster oven for a minute or two until it got bubbly.

Granny's Homemade Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
I make these quite often, I have a noodle cutter, it rolls over the dough and cuts it into 5 strips about 1/2 inch wide. I too double boil the noodles, first in water to take out the cloudiness, and then they go into either chicken or beef broth. Or sometimes if I am making chicken with vegetables, instead of making dumplings I will put in the noodles, and these I do not double boil.

Old School Mac n' Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
Made this last night and it turned out great. I did not put the potato chips on though, instead I used buttered bread crumbs. and for the person who said it did not list worchestershire sauce, read the ingredients again, and you will find where it says "1 Tblsp worchestersire sauce"

Breaded and Baked Zucchini

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2012
I make this several times a month, to use up the excess zucchini from my garden. I see where some people have said "it is way to salty" but nowhere in the recipe do I see where any salt is listed.

Baked Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I have been making home made tortilla chips in the oven for over 25 years, they taste great and are more healthy than cooking in all that oil. I spray mine with pam, then sprinkle with salt, garlic powder and a little paprika then bake.

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
I have been making this recipe for several years, and we love it. The only thing I do different is I peel the potatoes, because my husband does not like potato peels. (When I bake a potato, I eat the peel, he does not) I have made this using red potatoes, russet potatoes, and Yukon Gold. they all taste wonderful. it is the sour cream that makes the difference.

Crispy Bacon and Sweet Onion Omelet

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
I have tried seversal times to make an omelet, and they always end up as scrambled eggs, because it does not come out as planned. but this time I read the instructions and it sounded easy so decided to give it a try. As soon as the steam started, I removed the lid and was really surprised at what I saw, it looked like a fluffy souffle. I put on the cheese, bacon, and onions. swirled the skillet around, and slid the omelet out onto a plate. folded it over, let it sit a few seconds, and Voila! ate the best omelet ever. this is one recipe that I will be using over and over again. thank you.

I have been making this recipe for over 35 years, only instead of the Brandy, I use apple juice. It really is delicious. and a LOT cheaper than the $8.95 jars of Mince meat at the grocery store.
