Easy BBQ Flank Steak with Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
This was fantastic! The chipotle mayo was a wonderful complement to the marinade. We will definitely make this again. The only negative is that the recipe made for way too much of the mayo and we have tons leftover.

Kickin' London Broil with Bleu Cheese Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
This was delicious! Next time I'll add a little more bleu cheese to the butter, though.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I made this recipe as is and received tons of compliments at a recent party. I'll definitely be making it again and might try some other raters' suggestions such as using some pepper jack cheese or adding some hot sauce. Thanks for a great dip!

Herman Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
Used my Amish Friendship Bread starter for this recipe. The pancakes had a wonderfully light and fluffy consistency. The flavor was nice but next time I will try adding a teaspoon of vanilla as others recommended.

Herman Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This was a great option for using some of my Amish Friendship starter. The dough seemed to take a really long time to rise, but I'm sure that was because my kitchen wasn't all that warm. Turned out great otherwise. Thank you!

Lemon Poppy Seed Amish Friendship Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
At the last minute, I realized I had no poppy seeds on hand so I added about a cup or so of fresh blueberries. Also made a glaze of lemon juice and powdered sugar as so many people said this recipe needed a bit more lemon flavor. Turned out great!

Spinach Salad with Peaches and Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
This was a nice change from our usual salad rotation, and went well with our meal of grilled salmon steaks and rosemary bread. Didn't have pecans so used walnuts instead. The store-bought poppyseed dressing overpowered the flavor of the peaches and spinach, though, so we will have try something else if we make this again.

Spicy BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This chicken was tasty and moist. We're rating this just four stars because we felt the sauce still needed a little "something" added to the flavor, but it was quite a nice base recipe. We'll have fun experimenting with some additional spices. Thanks!

Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb Rub

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This was delicious and our guests raved. The only criticism we had is that it did not serve as many as the recipe stated. There were 8 of us and there was just enough for us to eat sparingly. (Fortunately, we also grilled fish so everyone had enough to eat.)

Orange Breakfast Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
These were tasty. I used a 1 lb. loaf of dough and rolled it up jelly roll style. Sliced into rolls about an inch wide, so recipe yielded about 15 rolls instead of just six. Will definitely make again!

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
These were excellent! The only change I made were substituting half of the flour with whole wheat flour, and I added finely chopped walnuts to the streusel. Next time I will use more pumpkin and cut back on sugar as suggested by other reviewers.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
My family thought this was good, but nothing too exciting. It certainly was easy to make and turned out nice and moist.

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
This was okay. I think I would add garlic (and ???) to the marinade if I were to make again. We thought the mustard sauce was gross (strong with no real flavor) so I threw it out and made my own sauce with Dijon mustard, sour cream and chives.

Cabbage Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This is my new favorite sloppy joe recipe! My family couldn't even taste the cabbage, and I loved that the sauce is not too sweet like others we've tried. Thank you!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
This was a delicious pot pie! I added 2/3 c. of diced Yukon Gold potato, but otherwise followed the recipe as written. My husband and daughter ate every bite, and the leftovers were yummy, too.

Bierocks (German Meat Turnovers)

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
These tasted very close to the bierocks I grew up eating at my hometown bakery, and my family loved them! They were easy to make and my daughter had fun rolling the dough and stuffing them. We chose to leave out the caraway seeds and didn't feel anything was missing. We enjoyed them both plain or dipped in spicy stone ground mustard.
