About this Cook
I began my cooking education when I was in home school and my mom asked me what I wanted to take as an elective. My final exam was to make a Chicken Kiev that passed my dad's taste.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook, for lack of a better term, "everyday italian." I have also ventured into indian, thai, and mexican. My specialty is a chicken and spinach pesto lasagna.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always makes a huge spread for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have begun to help her, since I am one of the few people that she allows into the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Winning my (now) wife's heart with the meal that I prepared for our second date.

Hearty Fettuccini Bolognese Sauce
This sauce was amazingly rich. It also freezes well and actually is better after the freeze.

Beef Bourguignon III
I worked with what I had, so I didn't follow to the letter. I ended up using 1 lb. of Angus beef tips and didn't use the tiny onions. For mushrooms, I used baby Portobellos. I did use a better Cab Sauv and I did add more broth during the simmer. All in all, this was a great recipe that I will be making again. As another reviewer mentioned, the house smelled wonderful during and after the cooking.

Famous Restaurant Alfredo Sauce
I have to agree with one of the reviewers that this recipe came in with too much cream cheese coming through in the flavor. I did try some different amounts of the spices. It will need some time to sit in order to thicken properly.
