Mandarin Chicken Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
Didn't care for this recipe. I put the oranges in at the last minute, but they still turned to mush. I think this dish needs more flavor.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
This batter was great. I used it on chicken strips, as I don't like shrimp.

Easy Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2005
Great! I added some sliced onion and cut down on the sour cream as we don't like it too tangy. Thanks for the recipe.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2005
I made this frosting for my son's birthday cake and everyone loved it. It is light and fluffy and would go well with several different types of cake.

T. T.'s Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
These were pretty good, but a little too flat for me. I chilled the dough, but that didn't seem to help. I didn't use peanut butter cups because I didn't have any, but I'm sure they would have been better with them. Mine were done in 10 minutes, so watch them closely or they will burn.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
Incredibly easy and really good. Uses ingredients I usually have on hand. Great served with rice to soak up some of the sauce.

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
These are great, but I made a few changes. I added parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mixture and double dipped in the eggs and breadcrumbs. I also popped the sticks in the freezer for a few minutes before frying. This prevents the cheese from oozing out while frying.

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
This dish was a bit too rich and thick for my taste. I think half the cream cheese called for would have been enough.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
My kids really enjoyed these.....but bake at 400 degrees? Are you kidding me? My first batch burnt to a crisp on the bottoms after 8 minutes. I lowered the oven to 350 and baked for 10 minutes. MUCH better. Also, I refrigerated the dough for 1 hour before I rolled them into balls.

Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2005
This was really tasty and quick to put together. I used half cream and half chicken broth as other reviewers suggested and also added sun dried tomatoes.

Beef and Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
Good and Easy weeknight meal. I didn't add the zucchini, but did add some onions and garlic. I cooked my pasta separately for about 5 minutes before adding to the broth and tomatoes so all the liquid would not evaporate. This way, I still had plenty of sauce left.

Oatmeal Chocolate Coconut Chewy

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
These cookies are loaded with oatmeal, chocolate, nuts, and coconut, what's not to like? Baked mine at 350 for 11 minutes, they came out soft and chewy. Thanks for the recipe!

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
This was a great, quick meal. I doubled the sauce so there would be enough to spoon some over the rice. I used rice wine vinegar, and also added some sliced onion. Would definitely make this again.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2005
My toddlers loved these. They DO taste like Auntie Anne's. I had to add more water to the dough to make it all come together. Only problem I had was rolling them out, I couldn't get them into a long thin rope like I wanted, they were very fat and plump. That didn't detract from the taste, though. I dipped mine in melted butter and sprinkled on salt after they came out of the oven, just like they do at the mall. These are great to make with your kids!

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
I thought this was very good. Only change I made was to use 2 TB of cornstarch instead of the flour. The sauce was perfect consistancy, not too thin, but not thick like gravy either. I didn't think it was bland at all, but I don't like spicy food, so this was perfect.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
Like others said, these were a complete flop. They totally spread out paper thin in the oven so there was absolutley no criss-cross pattern to be seen. They were sticky and bottoms were beginning to burn before they were done. What a disappointment.

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2005
I'll give these a 3 for taste, but I'd give them a 0 for appearance. These cookies are the flattest cookies I have ever made. I would never serve to company as people eat with their eyes first. I tried chilling the dough, but that did not help. I won't be making these again.

Beer Batter for Fish

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
Sorry, but we all thought this was horrible. This batter is very cakey, comes out crisp on the outside as soon as you take the fish out of the fryer, but turns soft within minutes. Puffs up so much, you can't hardly find the fish inside. What a waste of good fish.

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2005
These are excellent, but definitely add some vanilla to the batter. These muffins are light and fluffy, not a dense muffin. I didn't top with the sugar but instead used a streusel topping because that is what we like, but I'm sure they would be great with a crusty, sugary top too.
