Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I used 2c cream, 1c hickory maple cheddar, 1c muenster, 2c mozzarella. I melted them all with the cream and butter then mixed with the cooked pasta. I sprinkled parm/romano mix over the top. It was super creamy and delicious. Reheating takes away the creaminess for the most part. I didn't use eggs or salt or pepper and used olive oil instead of veg oil.

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes

The potatoes were tasty, but way too oniony. I'd rather not use this seasoning.

Honey Lime Chicken Wings

I used lemon juice instead and omitted the lime zest. This came out good, but not the best I've ever had!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I used Frank's Buffalo Sauce, so didn't need the spices besides the salt & pepper. I also baked at 400 for 1 hour (as per Frank's instructions) and it was delicious!I gave it 4 stars simply because all you need is Frank's!

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I marinated with garlic powder, then floured, egged and breaded, then egged and breaded again. The breading mix was delicious and these pork chops were a hit! I also used a ziplock bag like shake and bake,

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I did as someone recommended and threw two cloves in the boiling water, only I crushed them first and then mashed with the potatoes. I warmed the milk and butter together, didn't measure the salt and pepper but did it by sight, and added a dash of garlic powder. These were so easy and so delicious! Great with the southern gravy I made.

Nana's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This was fantastic and it was so quick and easy to make! I also used garlic salt instead of celery salt and a smokey onion mustard instead of mustard powder. I loved this sauce on ribs and will use it regularly.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This was fantastic! I used beef ribs this time. As Cathy recommended, I used the rub first: 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 Tbsp. paprika, 1 Tbsp. kosher salt, 1 1/2 Tbsp. black pepper, 1 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1/4-1/2 tsp. cayenne red pepper. But remove the back membrane before rubbing spices on. Then I used Nana's Barbecue Sauce from this site and marinated them in foil for at least 8 hours. I put the foil bunches in a dish for dripping and cooked for 2 1/4 hours like someone recommended. Then I put fresh sauce on the ribs and broiled for 15 minutes. This was fantastic! I will try with pork ribs next time. P.S. Nana's bbq sauce is amazing!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
This was so good! I made it a tad too spicy, and extra sweet, but still very good. I served with sour cream and Worcester Tabasco (they don't sell this locally but it's great) sauce and tortilla chips. It was a daunting preparation, but worth it!

Crispy Fried Fish

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
To me this came out way too oily. I couldn't finish the fish. I give it a three because it could have been my fault, I may have left the fish in the oil too long, I'm not a fish expert yet. Not sure I'll try again.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I used shrimp instead of chicken and stir-fried it with the green pepper, instead of frying. Then I tossed the shrimp, green peppers and pineapple in the sauce mixture, before serving. I was pleased to get the color mixture spot on, but will make the sauce a little thicker next time. I served with jasmine rice. I'll definitely try it with chicken sometime, but am not looking forward to the work!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
This was great! I only cooked it for 1.5 hours at 350 and then for 30 min at 250, my roast wasn't that thick. I added potatoes, but didn't like the taste on those.

Lisa's Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I made this recipe for 3 and here's what I did: I sauteed about 4 crushed and chopped garlic cloves with a tbsp extra v-olive oil and half a diced yellow onion. I added 1/2 diced tomato (I'm not a fan of tomatoes), 1/4 diced green pepper, 1/4 diced yellow pepper, 1/4 diced red pepper and 3 chicken breasts cubed. I poured a packet of sazon seasoning, 1/4 a cube of chicken & tomato bouillon, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 tsp black pepper and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and let cook covered over low heat for about another 15 minutes, mixing occasionally, then 10 minutes under medium heat, adding a little water so that it doesn't dry out. Note: I chopped and diced as I went so there are stages, so when I say "another 15 minutes" I mean after all is in together. It came out juicy and very flavorful, will definitely make again!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I scaled back the butter like the other reviewers, but also threw in a tsp of cayenne pepper and 2 tbsp of sweet onion mustard. I roasted at 350 for 1 hour, had it covered for only 30 minutes of that, then at 400 for 30 min and 425 for 10 min, to get it crispy. I basted it every 30 minutes and poured a little of the uncooked, thick honey mix over the chicken right before serving. It was yummy!
