Frizzeles (Friselle)

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2015
My friend and I had a project for English on the Italian Renaissance. We needed to bring food in, so we decided these would do the trick. Unfortunately, they didn't come out as we had hoped: flavorless, yet strangely spiced, hard, and strange chunky shapes. We didn't have enough time to through them out and make something else, so we had to serve them to our class. They were edible, but not many people liked them resulting in us getting weird looks from classmates. I had hoped these would be better.

Secret Simple Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
This recipe yielded very good hot chocolate! But, the directions didn't work very well. I set my coco for 2 minutes in the microwave and after about 1:30 it started bubbling over and getting sugary milk everywhere! It was pretty sticky and messy, so I suggest setting your drink for a shorter time. However, the end result was tasty, so 4 stars for me!

These muffins were PERFECTION! My friend and I made these on our snow day and they filled the house with a warm, sweet smell! They tasted amazing, and the topping adds a huge difference to the overall muffin! I will make these again for sure!!

Chocolate Cake in a Mug

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
This recipe seemed perfect but didn't turn out so. I followed the direction and got a fluffy cake mixture that didn't really taste like anything at all. Needed to be sweeter.

Egg in a Boat

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
This was a really cute recipe. Even though when I made it it was hard to cut a hole in the bread without it breaking, and that the egg didn't really stay inside the bread while eating it, it tasted pretty good. I will have to try this again with a different type of bread to see if it works better.

Hot Mocha

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
I had to add a lot of extra sugar than it says, not using Sweet n Low, either. I think that I would have also added some cream with it. Being someone who isn't a fan of plain coffee, I found it hard to finish.

Chocolate Chip Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
This recipe was surely a roller coaster. First off, being someone who hasn't used a bread machine very much, the directions weren't very clear. I eventually found a setting for the bread, but it took 3 hours and 40 minutes to cook and didn't really rise until the last half hour. Not very brightly on my part, I started making it at 10 p.m, so you can imagine I was up later than I thought making the bread. But, to my surprise the bread tasted great! I brought it to a family Christmas party and it was pretty good! I think more people would have liked it fresh from the oven, or warm at least. It tastes great heated up! Cold, not as good. Also, I would add more chocolate chips. Summed up my message is this: if you are loosing hope in your no-rising bread after three hours of baking, wait it out, I'm sure glad I did!

Tropical Smoothie with Kale

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
First time using kale and loved it! Because I'm allergic to nuts, I used soy milk vs. almond milk. Tastes great and I would recommend this if you haven't ever tried kale before, you won't be disappointed!

Yummy Apple Cider Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
I made this for my lunch tables thanksgiving potluck, and everyone loved it! Although I didn't include the sparkling red grape juice, it was still very yummy. I put it in a cooler with ice blocks and even though the cooler barely fit in my locker, it stayed cold all the way until lunch time! Great recipe!

Spaghetti Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
Even after reading all of the "surprisingly good" and "better than I expected" reviews, I was still thinking these were going to be just 'ok'. Well, I have to admit that this is going to be another "better than I expected" review, because they were stellar. This is a great recipe for one of those "I want to make something different but I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of ingredients" nights, because most of the ingredients are very common. Putting mozzarella cheese on top also was a nice addition.

Hammy Egg Maple Bagel

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
This was a great recipe ! I made it for a nice fall Sunday lunch, and it was perfect! The taste of the maple really completed it! Although I only made one egg, it was great. I recommend this for a nice lunch/brunch!

This was so good. We did not have any English muffins at the time that I needed to make these but, we had plain bagels and it was a great substitution and caused to make a great meal!

Sharktooth Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
This pasta was pretty good, although I didn't get as much sauce as I was hoping for. I would suggest adding more milk and less noodles.

Stuffed-Crust Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
VERY CHEESY!!! If l you like cheese, THIS IS FOR YOU! My sister and I used mozzarella cheese instead of Italian Cheese Blend. Very good! Although the recipe says 8 servings, for me it fed three people. Probably 8 slices, but I will probably make double the recipe next time.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
I loved this recipe!! They had great flavor and were hard not to eat!! I used vanilla instead of the Brandy and they still tasted great! Taking them out when they were cooked but a little doughy was a good decision! I will make these again for sure!
