I am still learning about baking and had never attempted gingerbread before. I followed this recipe and the gingerbread men were great! I did find that it was easier to mix and seemed to turn out better when I melted the butter instead of using room temp. I have no idea if that was implied and I just missed it. I have made a few batches now and they tend to be crisp on the outside with just enough soft in the center to make my 2 1/2 year old gobble them down with delight! I did double it,store airtight& use milk & confect sugar glaze as others suggested. The reviews were right again, glaze realy isn't needed! Thank you so much for this recipe. It will be a joyful addition to our holidays and that is a priceless gift!
