Manicotti with Cheese

Reviewed: May 2, 2015
As is, I give it four stars, however I think it's a fantastic base recipe. I added a bit of garlic salt and Italian seasoning (about 1/2 tsp each) and used 2 tsp dry parsley instead of fresh. I also only used one jar of Classico spaghetti sauce, and for our tastes, it was enough. I only seemed to have enough filling for 10 shells though, and had 4 leftover, from a 250g box. Would make again.

Three-Cheese Chicken Penne Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2015
Simply put - AMAZING. Restaurant quality, would definitely serve to guests. It even tastes great reheated the next day. It takes a lot for me to rate something 5 stars, but this is honestly one of the best dinners I've ever made.

Creamy Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
Making it just as is, I'd rate it at four stars. I thought it needed a little more flavour - so taking some suggestions in the reviews, I added about a 1/2 cup more sauce, about 1/2 tbsp of Italian seasoning, and slightly less cream cheese (half of a block of light). I also used a bit more shredded cheese (just over 2 cups), and I tried using the Kraft Italian blend pre-shredded cheese instead of mozzarella, and about half the amount of parmesan - even more delicious!!! Next time, I'd love to try adding some canned mushrooms or spinach. Would serve to company.

Easy Apple Cider

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
First time I've ever tried making apple cider, and what a HIT!! Whata super base recipe. Everybody really enjoyed it, and there were no leftovers between 5 people :o . The only slight changes I made was using about 3/4 tsp of nutmeg because I didn't have allspice, and I didn't have cheesecloth either, so I put spices in a coffee filter, and tied it up. By the reviews, I added far less brown sugar (less than a 1/4 cup). Also, I added a little bit of orange peel to the cider directly, and served with a slice of orange. Delicious!! I don't like to rate a recipe after making lots of changes, but I really believe most of these spices are quite interchangeable, and the sugar can be added according to personal tastes, without affecting this base of a recipe. Will definitely make again!

Spinach Pesto Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2014
Made it for the first time tonight and it was quite good! I went with a few suggestions on here such as adding a touch of salt to the top of the chicken, put in almost twice as much pesto, a splash of chicken broth & a shake of garlic powder to the mixture - came out great! The juices left in the pan went well on some penne pasta, too. Served spinach on the side. Really good!

Tex-Mex Chicken and Rice Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
Thought it was super easy and tasty. Didn't use as much corn (only because I don't like corn that much), but it turned out okay. Maybe would have tasted better if the chicken was seasoned (with taco seasoning, for example). Good though!

Three Cheese Chicken Penne Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
This was definitely the best recipe I've tried from Kraft as of yet, and from anywhere, lately! The only thing I did differently was use a 5oz package of spinach, and some more mozzarella on top. More spinach would probably be fine, but not sure about the entire amount. Just delicious, though - equivalent to a restaurant dinner, for sure. Will gladly serve this to company to impress. Easy and so tasty.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
I hate rating a recipe once I've changed it, but I did take the reviews into account and just used 3/4 c white & 1 1/4 c dark brown sugar. Other than that, I followed it exactly. I also used the President's Choice Decadent Chocolate Chips for it. Honestly the best recipe I've ever used for chocolate chip cookies. I could have afforded to make them larger/flatter but I wanted to stretch them out a bit - still fantastic!

Becel® Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2013
Best ones I've made so far. Didn't have to make any changes. *Update: Really great recipe - have tried it a couple times now, both as is, and by experimenting a little. Last time, I used Herb & Garlic shredded cheese with a touch of Philly instead of cheddar, used parsley flakes instead of thyme, and omitted the garlic & onion. It was truly delicious. The ONLY thing I'm trying to figure out with this recipe is how to make the cheese not so 'burnt' like on the top (we prefer a more gooey texture than a golden crust).

Swanson® Sensational Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2013
First time making soup and it turned out fantastic :) Used Campbell's broth though - couldn't find Swanson. Found it just a tad salty and a bit too many ingredients for amount of broth, so I watered it down a bit (maybe added almost one cup of water), also added a bit of onion and it was perfect. Will make again for sure.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Best sugar cookie recipe I've made so far!! One of the few cookie recipes I've ever used that I think actually tastes better using Becel margarine than butter. Very soft & nice flavour - I did have to add slightly more vanilla in second batch but that was probably because I was using artificial extract. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. Kept shape wonderfully. Very good!

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Really good recipe - will probably try this one again. Softest one I've made yet. I used half golden and half dark brown sugar for a little more flavour. I used Hershey's Chipits but will probably use a larger chocolate chip next time, as I think it might go better with this recipe.

Chewy Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
I tried this recipe for the first time and brought it to work with me - I had a lot of happy takers. Very moist, chewy, and delicious. I didn't have trouble with consistency after cooking, but I did add about 1/8 - 1/4 cup of extra flour just to make the dough a little stiffer. Will definitely add this too my Christmas cookie trays next year.
