Marble Swirl Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Has great flavor. I didn't know what a tube pan was so I tried putting it in a bread pan but there was too much batter so I ended up putting 1/4 of the batter in one bread pan and the other 3/4 in another bread pan and kept and eye on it in the oven for doneness. I later found out that a tube pan is a bunt pan.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
I used the base of this recipe with a bag of frozen raspberries and a can of drained peaches mixed together. The tickening was perfect, and topping was tastey, but not big and fluffy like I like it so I'm still looking.

Good Ol' Alabama Sweet Tea

I made this recipe with using only 1 1/4 cups of sugar and it didn't last long. Everyone couldn't stop drinking it.

Carne Guisada II

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
This was very good. I followed the recipe exactly when it came to the ingredients. I fried it up till brown in a cast iron pot, mixed everyting in the pot till boiling and then transfered it to a slow cooker. I cooked it on high for about 4 hours and then on low for about a little over an hour and then meat was falling apart. This was nothing like a stew to me. It didn't have enough broth to be a stew. It was how ever VERY tastey! We ate it with refried beans that we made and a mixed vegetable medoly I made with zucchini, corn, onions, tomatoes, cumin, garlic, oil, and a can of green chiles, dash of red wine vinegar and a swirl of honey cooked in a cast iron skillet.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I have never made and have never had this cake before. It turned out fine, not dence, i poured all the milk mixture on top of the cake after it cooled, my 5 year old son helped me make it and he poked a couple dozen holes in the cake with a wooden skewer. after soaking the milk up I frostened the cake and set it in the fridge for about 2 hours. Cut it and noticed some milk on the bottom of the cake pan, not much. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. But the family liked it. It was deffinetly different kind of cake but tastey. I will make again. Thanks.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
Was a nice recipe, I like a different recipe for honey wheat bread on the site better though. I mixed it in the stand mixer and kneaded for about 10 min, let it rise for about an hour, punched it down and let it rise for 40 min and baked it on pizza stones. Came out with a crisy crust

Italian Bread Wedges

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2007
Very good, very quick if you don't have time to make an actual Italian loaf. You can play around with the flavors on this one, add just about anything you want, and it would mnake a gereat pizza crust. I used swiss cheese and parmasain cheese.

Cilantro Lime Cod

This was very tastey. I didn't have any limes on hand so I used about 1 tsp of lime juice on each fish. I will be making this again.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
Wonderful! Turned out soft and delicous! I didn't use an egg wash for the top because I didnt want them to get hard on the outside and the still ended up turning a golden color. We used them for a french dip slow cooker recipe from this site.

Caraway Rye Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
wow! This recipe turned out great. I used the whole recipe to make 1 big loaf - living in high altitude I needed to add a little extra flour and it baked for about 5 min longer. I tried another recipe for rye bread from this site that didn't turn out at all! Thanks so much! I will be using this often!

Hearty Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
Nice color on the outside, nice texture on the inside but no where sweet enough at the store boughten raisin bread. Needs more honey/sugar and cinnamon. I will be looking for a better recipe. I made 1/2 this recipe to make one loaf.
