Coconut Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
These cookies are great! I didn't know until I was well into the recipe that my almond extract was out of date so I replaced it with vanilla, added a handful of chopped pecans and they turned out perfect at 12 minutes.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I scaled it down to 6 servings and used a smaller pan but I guess the pan was still a little large because it turned into kinda a pancake. It was still every bit as awesome as I'm sure it would have been if I had used the original sized recipe. My husband loves it.

This recipe is great! I used butter instead of shortning, but that was the only substitution I made.

Mimi's Slumgullion

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
This was awesome! We didn't find it greasy at all like some reviewers. The only change we made is adding more salt and pepper to suite our tastes. Thanks for the great recipe!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
I love this recipe. I've been looking for a good cookie recipe that is both perfectly yummy and easy to remember so I don't have to yank out the recipe every time I wanted to bake cookies. I made walnut sized balls and the recipe yielded 30 palm sized cookies. I flattened 12 down, dipped them in sugar and froze them for later use and those turned out just as good as the first batches. Great recipe!

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I thought this dish was awesome. I read reviews that said this was mushy after being baked so I cut the squash about 3/8" and it was perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!

I thought this recipe was great! I converted the recipe for 4 and didn't change anything else but the onions, I didn't have green onions so I used chives and it turned out perfect.

Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2007
The cake was great! Some reviewers didn't like that the cake caramelized with the sugar, but I thought that was the best part! Next time I'm thinking sugar and cinnamon on the top, bottom, and 2 layers in the middle. Great recipe!!!

Broccoli Salad II

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
I love this recipe. It's super easy, especially with microwavable bacon. I don't like vinegar much so I cut it in half and it came out perfect for me. My husband actually ate the leftovers before the next day. Thanks!

We love this recipe! I omited the red peppers and served it up with sour cream and Louisana hot sauce. It was a huge hit. Cooking times were very accurate as well! 5 Stars!

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2004
I loved it! I changed the recipe to suit our tastes and it turned out great. I used 2 small bay leaves, 4 tsp of hot sauce and 1 1/2 tsp of cayenne. I didn't have the sausage, celery, or the rice as it turned out. I replaced these items with ground beef, celery salt, and fetticine noodles. By then it wasn't really like Jambalaya but more like speghetti. Best speghetti I've ever made! Thanks!

Honey's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
This was my first bundt cake and it turned out beautifully. I took some other reviewers advice and used half the amount of sugar and cinnamon, but at the end wished I had stuck to the original recipe. It finished baking after 55 minutes and I iced it with a simple sugar glaze. It was moist and delicious. *****

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2004
This is exactly the recipe that I use and my family has used for ages. Because I am from the South (Alabama), I love this recipe even with it's simplicity and lack of robust flavor. People who like spices should try adding cayenne pepper and garlic powder for something extra. Me? I'll stick with the homestyle method. Thanks!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
I couldn't find really large mushrooms, so I used the regularly packed white mushrooms. I bought three 8 oz packs, and ended up getting 35 caps filled with the amount of filling that I ended up with after doubling the recipe. My husband really loved this recipe. I had to stand guard so everyone could get a chance to try them.
