I'm single, 2 cats, funny, social and love parties. I enjoy playing the Prestige Organ and am an avid composer. I love food. I'm on restricted cloresterol and am always looking for substitutes in cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Soups and stews. I make from scratch and freeze. I do not buy packaged mixes because of the chemicals and sodium and added fats. My favorite is corn chowder, spaghetti and salmon.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey with all the fixings...Oyster stew on Halloween and corn chowder on Christmas Eve. Canadian Meat Pie (Toutiere) on New Years Day.
My cooking triumphs
Canning. I make relishes, cider jelly and Strawberry Rheubarb jam. Also applesauce and conserves.
My cooking tragedies
Enchilladas.....disaster.....I still need to find a recipe that works. Then once a chili that was too hot!

Banana Banana Bread
This recipe is perfect. I used smart balance and egg replacer to make it chloresterol free. I added 3/4 cups walnuts. The bread is moist with a sweet crispy coating....delicious!

Emily's Famous Banana Oat Muffins
Delicious. I used 2 Costco size bananas that were riped to a wet state..nearly black. I used white and wheat flour with canola oil and organic rolled oats. This was perfect..just delicious..and hearty.
