Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
OMG! This is the BEST banana bread I've ever tasted. We entered it into our county fair this past weekend and it received GRAND Champion honors and sold for $800!!!! I did follow the advice of another by adding the topping to the top. It gave it that added punch and I think it made a difference to the judges too! I had to use 7x9 loaf pans, so I kept the recipe quantity the same and divided it amongst 3 pans. I use Pampered Chef Cinnamon plus in all my recipes, so that's what I used here as well. YUM YUM YUM!!!

Baked Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
I too browned the onions and celery in butter first. I wish I'd known to used the crushed stuffing mix instead of cubed. I had to use twice as much broth just to get it moist and then it was just "okay".

Make-Ahead Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
YEA! I love love love this new time-saving recipe! The potatoes were fabulous as left-overs as well. Everyone in my family agreed it was SO NICE to no have to worry about keeping the mashed potatoes warm since in casserole form, they stay warmer longer (or they can sit in a warm oven while you're carving the turkey! These are DELICIOUS! I won't be making these just on Thanksgiving, that's for sure!

Breakfast Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
Everyone loved this recipe. I did add about a cup of cheese to the mixture besides the cheese I put on top because we LOVE cheese! I had to cook it about 10 minutes longer than it suggested. I will be making this again at Christmas.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
This was a nice change, but it wasn't a WOW change. I'll stick to the traditional pumpkin pie next Thanksgiving. My family was not thrilled with me changing up tradition.

Pumpkin Roll II

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
This is by far one of the best recipes around! My son entered it into the county fair last year and he was a GRAND CHAMPION bake-off winner! It netted him over $1500.00 too!!! Some tips I've learned over the years: Double the recipe (everyone requests a pumpkin roll from me for Christmas, so I double many times over). When doubling, add the entire can of pumpkin...makes an extremely moist roll that way. Line the pan with parchment paper...much less mess! Chop the nuts (I prefer pecans) to cookie bit size (or buy them that way) and add them to the cream cheese filling. The cake tends to hold together better with less cracking and the nuts give the filling a wonderful texture. I triple the filling mix for the 2 rolls (1/2 as much filling per roll), so there is a thick cream cheese layer throughout. That's what everyone raves about. Lastly, I wrap in plastic while they are still warm and place them in the freezer immediately....locks in the moisture. Enjoy!

Chili I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
Being from Texas, this just wasn't at all what I'm used to chili tasting like. It was WAY too sweet! I would just leave out the brown sugar all together. It was also VERY labor intensive for the result. I served 10 people and not a one raved about this recipe...think they were being polite. Sorry, Bob-just not my taste in chili!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
I only used 1/2 the butter and had plenty! I doubled the recipe and both pans were devoured by family members in no time! It was the PERFECT addition to our traditional prime rib this Christmas and will definitely be on the list from now on!
