Strawberry Cake II

This cake is to die for!!! It gets 10 stars! I made this for my boss for her birthday and was so good I have to make another one this weekend. I did make a couple adjustments. I used fresh strawberries and chopped them in a food processor before adding to the batter. I made a 2 layer 9x13 cake instead of round. For filling I used the filling from the Strawberry and Cream Cake on this page (1 1/2 cups heavy cream, 2 T sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1 1/2 cup sliced strawberries) and used homemade cream cheese frosting to frost the top. It was absolutely amazing. People at work are still raving!

Pistachio Fluff Fruit Salad

This recipe went over very well! I made it for a potluck because I wanted something easy. Took me less than 10 minutes to make. And every one at work absolutely LOVED it! I had about 5 people ask for the recipe. The only thing I personally would do differently is maybe use the 8oz size of Cool-Whip to boost the pistachio flavor in the pudding. Great recipe!

Lemon Bundt Cake

This was really good and I don't really care for lemon. My mom loved it. She's the lemon person in the family. I did have to bake this a little longer that listed but its still good. I am making it tonight for a coworkers birthday. Will add some lemon juice and a little lemon zest to the batter to make it more lemony. I also topped mine with a glaze made of powdered sugar and lemon juice.

Creme Brulee II

Very good. Used 4 egg yolks like other reviews and had to cook it in shallow custard ramekins for about 38 min but it came out wonderfully done. Used a kitchen torch on top.

Bloody Broken Glass Cupcakes

5 stars for presentation. But it was a giant pain in the butt. I made the chocolate surprise cupcakes from this site (which are 5 stars) and used canned vanilla frosting to frost them. The glass took over an hour and a half and I ended up having to speed it up because I was running out of time (resulting in slightly brown tinted glass which is my fault not the recipes. Will not go through the effort again.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Delicious!! Made them as is except I added a teaspoon of vanilla and about 1/4 cup more pumpkin because some of the reviews said they didn't taste much pumpkin.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

I'm not a huge pumpkin pie or cheesecake person but I will eat this. And this is the recipe my sister requests EVERY thanksgiving and Christmas. Perfect the way it is although I did make it once with a little more pumpkin in it.

Baby Blue Punch

I give 5 stars for the idea because I really wanted to do a blue punch for a boy baby shower. However, I couldn't find blue Kool Aid or white cranberry juice so I used blue Hawaiian punch and soda. It worked out and looked great.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Made this for Thanksgiving 3 years ago and it is now a staple at Thanksgiving Dinner. The first time I made it I used 2 29oz cans of cut sweet potatoes instead of fresh. The following year I used fresh sweet potatoes. NEVER EVER USE CANNED! It is 10 times better with fresh sweet potatoes. THe only variation I make is that I top it mini marshmallows the last 10 minutes of baking. The pecan topping really makes this dish. So easy and so delicious

Green Punch

Nice green color for Halloween. Tasted pretty good too. Froze an ice ring with gummy eyeballs in it so there were eyeballs floating in the punch bowl. The kids loved that. Will definitely make this again.

Bagel and Cheese Bake

I liked this casserole and would personally only give it a 4. However, I'm giving it a 5 because I made it for Easter Brunch this morning and it's the only thing that was completely eaten and I don't have any leftovers. Everyone just loved it. It was super easy to make which is a big plus when cooking for 10 people. I used 14 eggs instead of 12 and used smoked sausage instead of bacon. I also topped it with Colby Jack cheese instead of Parmesan.

Delicious! Served with Hint of Lime tortilla chips and it was even better. Which means I will probably add just a little lime juice next time if I serve it with regular tortilla chips to give it more zing!

Now the most popular dish I make for parties but I do make it differently. I do 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream, use diced nacho jalapenos and use Mexican blend shredded cheese, not Parmesan.
