White Fiber Mini Shells with Cherry Tomatoes, Basil and Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
This was an amazing salad! I couldn't figure out if this salad was to be served warm cold or hot, but it was great both ways. The only reason our family is giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we thought it needed more cheese (probably mozzarella) and garlic! Otherwise, YUM!!

This was incredibly easy to prepare and VERY good! Followed the recipe exactly as written. Usually I spend hours making a lasagna so it was nice to have something quick! Thanks Barilla!

Avocado Cheesecake with Walnut Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2014
This was delicious! It was VERY sweet to us! I followed the recipe as written, but didn't use any low-fat ingredients as our family only buys whole fat foods. We used organic evaporated cane juice. I served it with my homemade chocolate raspberry sauce and raspberries! The whole family nodded in approval with stuffed mouths! If I didn't make it, I would never have guessed the green was avocados! Very creative recipe! I'll be making it again!

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
Amazing! And fun to make! We took them with us to our hotel and they went in the refrigerator and reheated nicely in the microwave! I will also make these in bulk to freeze for fast lunches for the husband to take to work! TIP: Mine had overfilled made as directed. Next time, I will save at least 1/3 of the sausage pieces for the top of the muffin cups for AFTER they are done baking. Then set them under the broiler for a few minutes to reheat the sausage. I would also choose to use fresh sweet potato hash browns. (Personal preference!) With those two changes, this would be a five star! Thank you Johnsonville!

Ground Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
I used sliced Johnsonville Sweet Italian Sausage in place of ground beef for this recipe and was VERY impressed with the results! The flavors were amazing! (Gently fold instead of stir to keep the sausage slices intact.) I had just gotten back from a vacation in a small Bavarian town in Washington State and this recipe brought me right back! AND it was super simple to make! I served it with organic brown rice and topped it with some chives. The whole family, including the two year old, loved it! We will be making it again!

Ashley and Whitney's Popcorn and Pretzel Sweet Snack Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This was REALLY good! I had intended to take a photo, but we ate it all before the sun came up! It was even loved by my very picky two-year old! Great recipe and completely recommended. I used: organic popcorn that I popped myself, stick pretzels, and coconut oil to melt the white chocolate instead of butter. (package directions.) Thank you!

Chicken a la Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
I made the Hawaiian option and LOVED it! Delicious! The flattening and slicing is time consuming. You need a very sharp knife!! Worth the effort! Yum!

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
This was pretty good with my changes! Cubed, seasoned and browned meat, put in SLOW COOKER with beef stock instead of water. For the "Sauce", which is actually more like a pico, I thought it was a bit bland so I added minced garlic, sweet onion, lime, and a jalapeno pepper. Wanted an actual sauce, so I made one from sour cream, drippings from the slow cooker, tomatillo, sweet onion, and a touch of taco sauce. We found out we aren't a HUGE fan of corn tortillas, they HAVE to be warmed up! All and all, this was pretty good. 4 Stars with my changes. I would add even more seasoning/elements next time. And flour tortillas instead.

Sweet and Spicy Salmon with Grapefruit Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2014
Three stars because the salmon was wonderful by itself (Caught by me this summer in the Puget Sound!), and the salsa was okay by itself. Together, it became a flavor that was VERY undesirable. They did not marry well. Mango, pineapple, or a sweeter fruit may make this better! I really like the concept of the dish, (Spicy, sweet salmon)however, this recipe didn't work in our house.

Bayrischer Schweinebraten (Bavarian Roast Pork)

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2013
My changes- *Used white wine to deglaze the pan (instead of water) *Made a half recipe (only three people eating here!) *Fully cooked the pork, didn't feel safe with undercooked pork. Next time: I would lower the oven temp to 325 so it could be in the oven longer. Might not be needed if you do a full roast.

Stuffed Roaches (Halloween Appetizer With Dates)

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Made exactly as written. Wish I would have bought chives to create better antennae with. These were good! I think next time I'll do more to kick up the flavors though. Cinnamon and nutmeg in the cream cheese mix, maybe? Or sitting on top of something.. like crumbled chocolate cookies. Extra flavor and more effect.

Dragon Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
These were great! I followed the recipe for the marbling of the eggs, but made my families traditional deviled eggs! They were a hit! Love that there is no food coloring involved.

Garlic and Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
These were very good! A couple tips! *Make sure the mushrooms you choose are actually LARGE. *Drain/Strain/Even BLOT your sausage to remove excess liquids. *Pipe the cream cheese on with a frosting bag and top it with a parsley leaf for extra POP! Thank you Johnsonville for a great recipe.

Pumpkin Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
I'm a huge fan of pumpkin, but found myself disappointed by the lack of pumpkin flavor. I was really hoping for more PUMPKIN than WAFFLE! I'd make this again, but maybe try to alter it to fit my personal preference. Thank you Splenda.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
Okay, so.. I heard all the hype about this recipe, my husband and I were like, "yeah right, whatever..." I spend so much time in the kitchen preparing it... When it was done, I was ready to be mad about it not being any better than my own. Well, let me tell you. This lasagna lives up to its name! This is THE BEST lasagna ever. I don't even care how much work I put into it. I'll do it again. I think this will be the only lasagna recipe I'll ever make. Ever. Thank you!

Sea-and-Shore Bison Kabobs with Mediterranean Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
My family really enjoyed these! (Even my 15 month old!) The bison was for sure the star of the show! Everything grilled up quite nicely with the exception of the scallops. I decided to save a couple dollars and go frozen. This was a mistake! The texture was not great! I'll be buying fresh from now on. Otherwise, even the veggies were great! Use small, whole mushrooms too. They survive the grilling a lot better than cuts quarters/halves of larger ones. The couscous salad had amazing flavor and was wonderful as a left over the next day as well. I'll be making both again! Thank you!
