Caramel Nougat Bar Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2000
Great tasting cake and wonderful icing (a total figure destroyer, though...) After seeing the comments about the caramels sticking to the pan bottom, I took one of the suggestions to use caramel ice cream topping. When I turned out the cake onto the wire rack, however, it fell apart, while some of it stuck to the pan. The cake was way too moist. Any suggestions as to the reason why this happened? (the pan was well coated with a flour/oil baking spray).

Apricot Brandy Pound Cake I

I just made this cake for the first time. I am not much for pound cake, but this one is excellent. It's moist, flavorful and quick to make.

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2000
This one is easy to put together but somewhat time-consuming, but I think it's worth the effort. It came out delicious, and the pasta I served it over complemented it very nicely.

Margarita Party Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2000
The filling is tasty (I added some extra Tequila and Triple Sec for more kick and flavor) but the crust is too salty. I will try it next time using a graham cracker crust.

Baked Spaghetti I

Time consuming dish. I added extra mushrooms for more taste - still, not a memorable meal. A weekday family meal, but definitely not company fare.

Orange Pumpkin Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2000
I made two loaves last night (using dates instead of raisins, since that's my preference)and brought a few slices to work. The bread got rave reviews. It bursts with flavor and has a nice texture. This is a keeper. I will make 4 loaves tonight - one to freeze, the rest to give to friends. Thank you for sharing this great recipe.

I made this instead of mashed potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. It has a nice, delicate flavor. So easy to make, too.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Excellent recipe. Not to mention a cinch to make. I served it over spinach linguine and over brown rice. Delicious paired with anything.

Apple Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2000
Quick, easy to make, and tasty. Not enough pie filling, though. Next time I make this cake I will add at least half a can more of apple pie filling. Also, way too sweet. I will skip the brown sugar and just sprinkle cinnamon and walnuts on top.

This is a good and flavorful bread. It came out a little gooey, but the taste is a winner.

Different Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2000
Easy and tasty. A whole bag of stuffing is way too much for a 9x13 in. dish. Probably half would do just fine.

Peach Cobbler I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2000
Quick and very tasty. My apricot trees have started yielding their fruit a week ago, so I used them instead of peaches. It came out a little runny, though. Next time I think I will add some tapioca to the fruit before baking.

Superb recipe !!! My husband's favorite pie is pecan pie, and he is also a "cookie monster". So, this recipe fills the bill twice. Very rich but absolutely delicious! Easy to make, too. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe.

Raspberry Icebox Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2000
Easy and very tasty. I used raspberries from my own back yard and got a light, refreshing and delicious dessert. I used Graham Cracker crumbs for the bottom layer, and had to use almost the entire box. I think the recipe asks for too small a quantity of graham cracker crumbs - it would not quite cover the pan bottom and it would be too thin.

Easy and delicious tasting. There's nothing to this recipe and the gravy goes so well on mashed potatoes. Great!

Applesauce Rum-Raisin Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2000
The rum-soaked raisins are a nice touch, which I also use when making apple strudel. Other that that, though, I judge it a rather average cake, with a slight rum flavor.
