Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I omitted the cheese, celery and corn, and added green beans just before putting the salmon in. I also added a generous pinch of ground chilies, following another reviewer's suggestion to kick it up a bit. It was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be making this again. Thanks Kenuilia!!

While these are fast, easy and delicious, they are super sweet. Make sure you cut them into really small squares.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
These cookies were delicious - they are soft and chewy. Two things to note - I followed others' advice and put the dough in the fridge for an hour and I didn't have flat cookes. Second, 2 cups of chocolate chips was way too many. I held back about 1/4 cup and still found it was too much. Next time I will try maybe 3/4 cup and go from there. Thanks for sharing - these are delicious!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
I have never made anything like this, and it was not only easy, but wonderful! I roasted the squash first for about 50 minutes, then scooped it into my other ingredients. I used chicken broth (made with powder and water) and cut down the cream cheese to only one package. It was delicious and everybody raved about this fantastic soup. Thanks for sharing, Mary!! :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
My favourite! This is one we make often. I follow the recipe for the most part, but add one tablespoon of Bisto right at the beginning. I also omit the potatoes, and serve it on top of mashed potatoes. This way you can add more meat and veggies if you want to, or make it in a small crock pot, which we used to have, and not worry about running out of room. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing Buchko!

Almond Buttercrunch Candy II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
This is delicious! I made it and really impressed my mother-in-law. I would cut the crushed almonds in half though, as they didn't stick to my butter mixture, but rather stayed in the bottom of the pan for the most part. Also, it takes a lot longer than 5 minutes, but just keep stirring and you will get there. Absolutely delicious and just like almond roca!

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This was awesome! I made it pretty much as is... I omitted the ground coriander and cilantro, as I don't like the taste. Also, I used about 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon as I didn't have a stick. With the chickpeas, you can also drain them and add the liquid as needed to control your consistency. It has some kick with the cayenne pepper and my husband, who was reluctant, loved it.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
I made this recipe almost exactly a written. I used only a half of an onion as that's all I had, and 1 cup cream, 1 cup milk, as my milk was low and I found some cream in the fridge. I also sprinkled extra pepper on the top after adding the cheese sauce. It was AWESOME. My husband and I both loved it, and I will definitely make this one again. I took the tin foil off after the 1.5 hours and let it brown, and the potatoes were done perfectly. I used regular cheddar, and I didn't find it bland at all. Thanks for posting this keeper!!!

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
These turned out terrible for me, and I followed the recipe exactly. They were hard, dense hockey pucks. Not sure how I mess this up, but I wont' be trying these again. Sorry!

This was a good casserole and tasted great, but was much smaller than what I had expected. It safely serves four adults. Thanks!

Delicious! I used milk instead of cream once, as that's what was in the fridge, and it was still delicious, just not as thick. Thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
I made this in the oven instead, as I prefer that consistency. It was delicious and was my first attempt at stuffing. We make this with every turkey dinner now, and don't bother to stuff the turkey; we just make it as a side dish. Less mess that way! Thanks for sharing.

I made this exactly as it was written and it was awesome! I will take the advice of others re: refrigeration, as some of the meringue separated but it didnt matter. It was delicious and this was my first ever attempt. Thanks for sharing!
