About this Cook
I love food. I might go as far to say that me and my husband are foodies. We are Tauruses after all, but we aren't food snobs. We love food in any fashion and that especially includes hole-in-the-wall joints that make the greasy, authentic stuff.
My favorite things to cook
I do enjoy baking, although I do not have a sweet tooth. My baked goods always seem to have the highest reviews. When I cook for "me" however (not often at all), I adore comforting pastas with lots of veggies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating is more the tradition in my fam. My husband, the "chef" around these parts, comes from a great background of wonderful cooks. He simply amazes me and our household when seemingly nothing is in the pantry and he whips up a restaurant worthy meal.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest triumph has to be that I actually can cook now! This, honestly, has come from necessity. When my husband and I were first together, I would put truly pathetic meals on the table. Over the years however, as we had children, I learned to improvise with what we have, not following recipes but learning some instinct in the kitchen as to what should go with this or that, and I CAN cook! I still come to Allrecipes all the time for inspiration, but I know when I must add some seasonings here and there. I'm not afraid to use my instincts. My hubby told me a few years ago that I have finally created my own in the kitchen and my mom even praises my cooking now! Sure I can't beat the hubs who is still the chef, but I get by on the everyday stuff.
My cooking tragedies
Oh, so many tragedies. It's been a long road, and I am still on the path. Hell, I even made a horrible chicken marsala the other night but I keep moving. I don't let the rough patches bring me down. After all, we still gotta eat!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken
Pretty tasty! I eyeballed the ingredients. The boys loved it. Great for everyday chicken. I also just baked instead of broiling.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Best chocolate chip cookie ever. I took them out right when the edges started to brown but when they cooled, they looked underdone. I almost put them back in the oven for another min or two but tried one and they were just wonderful. The texture of these cookies is absolutely PERFECT. I used a half butter/half crisco combo, and added a dash of salt. No nuts.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies II
Excellent recipe! Just made these this morning with my kids. Only changes I made were I used a little less macadamia nuts and a little more white chocolate chips. I also refrigerated the dough for about 10 min while I waited for the oven to preheat and did not grease the baking sheet. I cooked them for 9 min and took them out right when the edges started to turn brown. They looked underdone but when they cooled, they were PERFECT! Had some friends over and they adored them, asking for a third and fourth cookie. I was even told by one friend that it was the best cookie he'd ever had!
